the MVP Reward Drop and exp are not effected.

But MVPs also have their "monster" drops and exp which certainly are effected by the level difference..

So yeah that is something that we are discussing with HQ, as MVPs should be entirely excluded from this.

I'm going to go ahead and bump this thread at point out that some monsters, like Unsealed Baphomet, Hardrock Mammoth, and Tendrilion, aren't actually MVPs. And I'll go ahead and argue that they should be excluded from diminishing modified drop rates. Most importantly shrine bapho.

While 150s may be far better suited to taking on Bapho "legit"ly, he is level 98 which would result in half drops. You would have to be an idiot to want to kill him using 150 chars, and this will only encourage more reflect killing. Though maybe we should wait till y'all have re-enabled instances to start talking about shrine bapho.

I thought shrine bapho had the mvp sign...and reflect killing is horribly nerfed, thank god.

Wouldn't nerfing the drops for 150s make things fair-er for mid-level people who want to MVP because while they can't kill it as fast they get better drop chances?

If the gear that MVP's dropped was specifically for players of that level range and useless for players much higher (like all other games that have drop penalties) i'd agree, But RO was never designed that way.

The biggest problem with implementing the drop rate penalty is that RO was never designed with that in mind. Monster drops would have to be completely redone. Potting/forging items need to drop from monsters at every level range at a good %. Gear should only drop from monsters in the level range that the gear is good for. i.e. equipment for 90+ should only drop from 90+ monsters while nuub gear should only drop from low level monsters. The biggest problem is cards though.
