Note: This works for other classes that have a hard time dealing damage to get points as well.
1) Don't attack a soldier type unit unless necessary! Face it, knights have lowest existant damage output according to their masteries, and attacking the ones with highest defence won't help you with doing damage either. Unless you use an attack power/critical build, with which you can take down most of the defence the champion/other knight has, it is a very stupid idea to even bother.
2) Stay near the crystal. It was said when the game arena first came out, you get extra points for killing near the crystal (both attacker and defender). Persuade your team to always stay near it, it will be beneficial for both you and the rest of the team.
3) Attack targets that already are under heavy fire (easier for crossbow knights). Some may find this lame, but since your points are also based on the kills you get within crystals vicinity, it is highly advised not to pay attention to the amount of damage you deal (you won't hit a lot anyway), you just have to be able to strike the killing blows.
4) When you are attacker, hit the crystal for sure. You get points for the damage you do on it, and you usually hit a lot more on the crystal than on other players. Also, you get points for killing the crystal yourself (linked to 3), last hitter concept). If you weren't the one to take down the crystal, but you were still near, you still get a fair sum of points for being nearby while it gets destroyed.
Also, be sure to experiment on what set to use. Sometimes you'll get low points, sometimes high, don't be disappointed when you get only 20. But just fight for a while using one set, do a match or ten with it, use another set and try again. See what works out for you the best.
Knights are a good class, you just have to play them well.
