I'm curious I've been hearing it around a lot lately in different topics and I know theres no official statement saying the game is going to be shutdown. Has there been talk about it? This game has been going for a long time from what I hear and not only that its still a great game to many people even to someone who has been playing for years. I'm new to this game been playing for a month or so off and on. I would be bummed out if I just started and this gets shut down.

This topic has been discussed in almost 3 Topics in the past 24 Hours.
PLEASE use one of the existing ones like ,,Server Population" or ,,Where is everyone".
However, there is currently NO SCHEDULED closing of ANY official Server such as fRO (European Ragnarok Online), aRO (Arabic Ragnarok Online), kRO (Korean Ragnarok Online), jRO (Japanese Ragnarok Online), iRO (International Ragnarok Online), pRO (Philipine Ragnarok Online?) or any other Server I might have missed.
There was a ,,rumor" that aRO could be closing and merge with fRO but after some talking with aRO officials that turned out as an accident when translating stuff from their language into English plus some people jumping on the Hypetrain. I am sorry that I have brought this Topic to this Forum in the past.

I've been following those two topics but those ain't made for what I'm talking about simply about the players. I made this one because this one because there ain't one on here that I've seen specifically talks about it. The other two topics your talking about are getting cluttered up with a bunch of other stuff.

Right now kRO is working on RWC 2012 as well as some future Updates such as Episode 15 and surely other stuff - so no danger from there.
iRO is doing okay as fas as I can guess, so no danger for us as well.
I cant tell you bout the other server though.
However, I don't think that the Gameserver will be shot down anytime soon. As long as enough Player are paying (=/= Playing) enough to make hosting and developing this Game worth the effort its pretty save to say they will go on with it.
If you want to make deeper researches with some Facts from a business point of view I recommend you to take a few minutes and look at Google for the official Business Report of both Gravity Interactive and Gravity Korea (Not sure what their businessname is right now). Looking through them and doing some businessmath will give you a clue how those Companies are doing. While the share value of Gravity Interactive dropped lately I dont see any sign of danger but we have to keep an eye on how Requiem is going to develop and if RO2 can make its way to life. if RO doesn't make any profit anymore then that's the case.
if it is the case they'll announce it.
so as long as there isn't any such anouncement rest assured and play your game.

Thanks for the links. I'll probably check it out. One quick questions though what is RWC 2012?

RWC (Ragnarok World Championship)’ is Gravity’s global game festival scheduled every year. is a grand final tournament deciding who is the best player among all Ragnarok users in 77 countries, one of the biggest scaled competition in global games.
This years RWC will be held in Seoul, South Korea.

*Uses magical powder to hide this Post from Mods & GM*After all iro us made an agreement with FRO ( practically the european one), that you can't make a new US account if you are from europe, giving FRO more player, so it seems to me they are fine. Kinda @%!! if you ask me, my friends were really sad figuring out they could not play this version with me.
How to bypass the Restriction:
Step 1: Make an Warpportal Master Account (=WPMA)
Step 2: Make and attach an Requiem Account to your WPMA
Step 3: Make your Ragnarok Online account and be happy for ever and ever
Step 4: ????
Step 5: $ and $²
----
Tell this your friends!

I am always happy to see new european player.
Frankly, fRO is managed by THE most noobish company ever!
If anyone here is thinking iRO's management is bad, please feel free to play just 1 week, hell even 1 day is enough at fRO and I can almost guarantee you that you'll coming back and praise Heimdallr/ Oda as your new God!

No need to "hide" - the description of how you can avoid the ip-ban was given by heim himself
