I noticed that all the hawker bow skills work for xbow too but I've never heard of a xbow scout
So, is it worthwhile testing a xbow build or is it unheard of for a good reason?
Or is it just me who hasn't heard of it?

i've seen xbow scouts about, i think most people just go bow tho just because they got full dex rest con. whereas i think xbow needs str? mhm im not sure why there isnt more http://forums.warppo...tyle_emoticons/default/happy.gif

Xbow scout is like a gimped xbow knight. You don't gain much defensively from wearing a shield as a scout. So it is kind of pointless. It is really only advantageous to knights since they have passives that make wearing a shield worthwhile and they gain range from using a xbow. So with that in mind, you might as well maximize your offense and go bow. The stats work out more in your favor as well since you won't need any str.
That is why you don't see xbow scouts. It makes more sense to use bow as a scout and xbow as a knight. But by all means give it a try. I didn't want to discourage you, just answering your initial questions.

Seems like I should probably do normal bow. But I'm not getting around to it anytime soon anyway since I'm lvling my dealer atm XD

WHat Guardian said. You will actually lose attack power, accuracy and attack speed using a crossbow compared to a bow (attack speed not so much with six stick) and without any passives holding a shield gives you minimal advantages.

I will tell you, its easier to work on dodge then defense. Defense is much harder to get and MUCH more expensive.

Yeah i would just keep scout the way it is and leave XBOW to knights since they have a way better advantage.
My main is a 215 crossbow scout and if they changed it to knights only i would sad face ;[

why not xbow have an alternative stat requirement like str or dex . .either you put str or dex in a require amount you can you use it . so that it will be worth useful for scout. ..since xbow can use by two diff jobs that has oppposite built... and yea xbow is favorable to knght cause of the stat requirement(strength) and scout dont need str so its a waste of points for scout to put so much str to it. ..so its not advisable to use xbow for scout. . .

You would most likely still attack faster using a bow because as a bow user you get attack speed passives in your skill tree. If you were to use crossbow, those passives would not affect you. 15% or whatever is easily the difference between +2 and +3. Plus the animation for bow is far better than the animation for crossbow....

it is useful for scouts :] before everybody had full 15's my scout could kill faster than before when it was a normal bow scout
even without the dex it's still strong

I think xbow scout would be comparable to a dexmuse. They're good but they'll never be better then the original class.

I have a x-bow scout too! Like Kelsiee says - they are useful, but it is a bit of a different build and mindset. I don't do much 1 on 1 pvp - but I did match mine up against a regular scout with similar refine gear and it seemed to be a draw. I won one and he won one.
Since I am not yet finished with my build and refining - i can't say for certain, but there are some trade-offs and it loses some of the advantages that many people are looking for when they choose to be a scout.
