My quick design on Paint XD No idea how to use 3d Programs :lol:

I want it to have some depth to it so its not paper thin like the 180 backshield ingame >.>

The grey bits wanted it to be like a bone colour abit like the raptor backshield colour but alittle bit darker.

The yellow bit i want it to be gold edging as well as the ring at the bottom of the backshield.

Were the black is i wanted it to be like a black onyx colour and the red part to be Hard red leather.

If there is a desire for off hand items/content then we can work on putting something together in the coming months.



Do one for outfits.


The last contest in the old forums got shelved, though aspects of submissions crept up in later in-game outfits with changes and alterations. For example, we made capes and such for back items in that contest, but Yuki pointed out the drawbacks on those as back items since its attached mid-back....but capes still appeared later in outfits like the witches robes from halloween. I wanna design some chest pieces so i can get some tails in there...and get some fun costumes in. And more capes. =) I still fail at 3-D, so I can't help ya there. =/

Here's a couple I've done...stats are random, as are the names. Those can be tweaked at any time. Just thought I'd come up with some Faction gears that look pretty. Would be fun to have a generic statted one, I suppose, so that ppl could just wear for fun to rep their Factions...though JO and FG backshields kinda suck...but their pennants dont give me much to work with. =/ I'll come up with some more later on. =)


All Items -
Name: (faction name) Backshield. (creative, I know.)
Item Description: This item was given to the loyal followers of the faction. (yayyyy...Factions really need a rallying cry. "Secretive Arumic organization" or "revolutionizing technology" just don't seem to cut it as slogans. "Born defenders of justice" and "always bringing glory" are a tidbit better, but not by much.)

@Eosphorus, I see you're way over the top standard limit of polygons used for each items in ROSE. I'd say you need to stay under 500 (or at least around 500 polygons of total) to prevent low-end computers to lag out. Especially considering you're you're in the middle of Junon, stacked with shops and 1000+ polygon models such as this one. It's a well made concept though!

Sorry for breaking the rule already, Calanor! Eosphorus, PM me a wireframe, I'm interested to see how many polygons that exists in the model.

polycount should not be an issue in Eosphorus model
well it has way too much polygons atm but high detailed models can be used to make better textures
most of my stuff is always very high poly and then I use it to "bake" textures into low poly model - it saves time and help if you don't have 1337 drawing skills

here is a quick lame example how this model can look in wireframe (ingame version)

so as you can see from these examples - polycount should not be an issue (in most cases)

@Yuki, Yeah of course. You told me that before :P But I mean, if the model is gonna stay like that, it's not gonna work that well for people with low-end computers. Right? -_-
