I'm on a quest to record Ragnarok lore so I'll definitely be playing both.

RO2 here. It's friendly to casual players like me. My tolerance for the heavy grind old games like RO have has dropped considerably over the years.
If you plan on sharing any interesting tidbits you find, I'd love to read about it. Even more if you find out what RO2:GotW was about. That game was dead before I even knew it existed.
So far in RO2, I'm enjoying seeing the occasional NPC reappear for later quests. It's a nice touch, but I feel sorry for Mildwin.

Man, GotW's concept was pretty good. I liked the feel better than LotS. Reminded me of ROSE Online a bit.
I remember trying out the gameplay, I liked it so much that when it got scrapped, I went out and looked for private servers. XD

I know of only one private server for GotW that's still.. open. I hesitate to call it "active". I came across it while searching for the game client so I could rip Yoko Kanno's music from it. If you're still interested in playing that, look into YggRO2.

But, as much as I'd love to, there's no guarantee in it's longevity, I might as well play LotS with my friends. Haha!

Stick with the pros. Trust me, I've played that server before. And it isn't half bad nor isn't half good.
