Hey guys.
Rollchan, very good guide. =)

I'm new into this game and since I decided to play a knight I wanted to know the opinion of the comunity about my build.

http://ro2base.com/b...310247.22310247

The purpose of this build is, as you can imagine, to maximize damage and dps overall through critical hits. Those 3 points in vit are the stat points leftover. Regarding the skill department, I know not having shield fortress looks insane but as all I wanted to do is off-tanking adds in raids, I don't know if S. fortress will be really necessary for that. Aura Armor is for threat generation as well as some hp backup and damage reduction while off-tanking, though I don’t know if it worth spending all those points. Also, it can be useful in pvp/colosseum, but I'm really not sure at all...

I don't have shield fortress in my build. I will reset to get it later on if I absolutely must have it, but for now, I don't really ever need it.

Fortress is not for you, it's for the DPS in your raid, namely in PVE hard on the driller boss.

Pretty much my build http://ro2base.com/b...1.1.1/0.0.0.0.0

So, leaving Fortress out of the equation, do you think it worths to marx Aura Armor just for the threat and extra hp generation when off-tanking?

Yeah.

If a bunch of adds spawn in a raid and you pot to grab them w/o aura armor on, and MT pots too for w/e reason, MT is going to end up tanking everything and you're going to have a bad time trying to pull them off.

If you don't max Aura Armor, reset your build. It's core for any knight, regardless of build.

Hmm, I see. So basically what you're saying is a Knight is required to do things such as PvE Hardmode and beyond? What if the MT/OT combination was a Monk with a BM/Warrior? Would it not be possible to complete the raid, because Shield Fortress is not present?

Not taking sheild fortress is like a Sorc not having Deluge or a Priest not having Sanct.

The idea is you need to stack multiple HP+ or damage reduction skills to soak the big unavoidable AoE. What combo you need depends purely on group make-up and gear levels.
Do you really need SF? In current content no(except maybe driller or xenospider hissy fits). For CoA or AoD? Rumors around say SF is a needed crutch down the road. Though we don't know for sure.

Still even as dps spec I have shield fortress. The utility is far too strong to pass up. You have enough points to get it pretty much no matter what role you play.

You don't *need* it, other classes can indeed fill the gap, but at the same time, I don't really see what else you could really get.

50% less dmg to knight, and 25% reduction to entire raid for 10 secs is pretty clutch. Bring 2 knights to the party ez mode alternating on current and future raid content.

Condicering how hard Rat Master's Hadouken AoE hits, having SF really helps. Needed? No. But I'll be damned if it didn't save people several times last night.

Hi there :)

I am new to ragnarok. Currently i am leveling my knight. In order to skill her right i tried to read the discussions in this forum. But there are a few questions i can't answer.

The first question is about shield cannon. I tried to read the discussions about this skill but i'm not sure what to do now. I can't make out a good argument not to have this skill except mayby a few point of DPS more or less. Are these few point in DPS really that important for a Tank? I think that the initial damage at the begining of a fight might be good for getting aggro but im not too sure about it.

Second i am a little confused about headcrush. I can see that the DOT is good for having more aggro but how does this skill work when other knights/warriors are in the group. There can't be more than one DOT on an enemy as far as i have seen it. Whose DOT will be on the mob? The one who casted it at last or the one with the most points in it?

Well thats all for the moment thanks for the answers an greetings!

P.S. Please don't mind my english. I am not a native speaker.

Shield Cannon is more for PvP/Colo, it is your higest damage skill and can burst pretty high dmg when Cri.

For PvE, no SC and use only Aura Strike is fine, shield cannon animation is slow and you do not lose much DPS not having it.

That few extra DPS is not so important for tanks, however, colo gear is so good that it is important to all classes.

Some people find SC necessary for Colo, some don't, it is more of a play style problem.

For headcrush, it overwrites so the last one who cast has the DOT on mob, even if it is lower damage.
