@TheFool:  You were probably very fortunate.  I remember spending more than an 1hr.

I lost count how many times I tried doing this test.  It wasn't more than 50.  I exhausted my "hard won" (free) supply of yggdrasil berries and seeds  (I burned through 25 berries and maybe 18 seeds in total), bought a total of 10 warg -_-tails, 7HP increase potions, wasted all of my yellow condensed pots...

I decided just to buy white potions because I don't have much money to continually begin with.  I think eventually I took 150+ white condensed and 2 ygg seeds in case I was going to die, with no HP increase pots.  The bless and agi buffs I gave myself would wear off on me once I got to the test so...it was kind of pointless, if not every time I died I lost 85%-95% of my SP.  I also wasted a random sacrament buff from a wandering AB who was very nice to me.  That was disappointing.

The key is to...keep calm =p  If you feel like you're gonna die and no healing can prevent you from going down, don't try to save yourself ^^'  it's better to save the items for next time.

Here are my stats for now...the headgear is on loan from my AB~

Strong words.

The thread opener contributed to the wiki and put this information up there. He's a fool for not giving credit to himself? At least to me it appears this thread was created before the information had been written into the wiki, so if you want to be correct, then the wiki should cite this thread (which no one asks or cares for since this is not the real wikipedia we're talking about).

Oh, my deepest apologies to the OP then. My bad, did not know the facts and just rambled off.

This could all be solved if everyone went the true path for warlock.Wonder why 2 hand staffs do 100 percent to all size and ranger with half your funding out dmgs you?Its cause your supposed to be ASPD/Crit warlock.Reading spellbook?Ha that's just so you can freeze monsters faster for ranger.Reconized spell? That just so your lvl 1 Sg doesnt variate from 200-300 dmg.Tetra Vorttex? That's just a "what if?" scenario if magic did real dmg to monsters that count. Now that everyone knows this thread should be over.

This thread made me so mad when I was doing the WL test.  I must've read it 500 times, and I wanted to slap most of you.

I'll be the first to admit that was a pretty bad wizard/high wizard (Now I'm a bad warlock!  HAhahaha!).  But I've also been able to sneak through the other job changes I've done (maestro, ranger, mechanic, all the 2nd classes) with only a reasonable number of frustrations.  I think the only job change I've hated as much as the WL one is the Dancer one.

As far as I'm concerned, the combat part of the WL job change is little more than a Q&A (or a QQ)

Q:  Do you have safety wall?

Q:  Do you have endgame armors?

Q:  Do you have frost nova?

Q:  Are you mostly/completely free of lag?

If you answered no to all of these, you're hosed.  The two primary reasons why this job change made me want to burn someone's house down are that I'd nearly always die before the monsters even appeared on the screen and I couldn't use ice wall, which is my go-to defense move.  I had grabbed coldproof potions and HP increase pots but still couldn't survive long enough to get half a level 1 storm gust out in all but the luckiest attempts.

My greatest tip for this job change is to have a very nice friend who mains a WL.  Once I borrowed a heavily upgraded carded nid garb, CoD, and a couple of other goodies, I got to just leisurely freeze and jupitel everything and finished with lots of extra time.

If you don't have a Very Nice Friend, sell an MVP card or something and buy your way through this job change.   :no1:

If you don't have SW OR frost nova you should probably delete and try again =x

Since me and my homies sold an MVP card we got on an ET run I can afford neuralizers now so it's like whatever.  ヽ(´ー`)┌

I still prefer ice wall.

if you can afford neuralizers, then you can afford end game gear. or at least a witch pumpkin hat to heal yourself with. i just redid the quest recently on a friends high wiz (who was wearing variants shoes and orleans armor with a peco card and then a bunch of eden gear) and breezed through in 1 try. popped a 200zeny coldproof potion and a 20k hp increase pot as well as energy shield of course, and then sged the room when i got in. this time the stones actually worked for me (the previous times it hadnt for some reason) so everything died in pretty much 1-2 crimson rock casts. he did not have safety wall, nor did i really need it, and i play on a tethered cellphone connection, so its not exactly the fastest. hell i didnt even bother wearing a shield since i had staff of destruction on

hp increase potion 20,000z

coldproof potion 2000z  (for waterball immunity)

swordfish card 6.5m z  (for waterball immunity)

if you cant bother to purchase these items before hand, then you deserve any problems you get

Obviously now I can afford rad gears.  When I took the test, even 20mil seemed like a ridiculous number.

I had been trying to buy a swordfish card (or find one) for a few days at the time; they never went up for sale when I was online.  Sometimes even if you can afford something it's out of your reach, and damn it I wanted to finish that job change before that double VIP EXP ended.

I still think the job change is hella lame.  I'd rather do the maestro or ranger one 10 times than have to do the WL one again.  (Not the mechanic tho, that one sucked too)

ETA: That probably means I shouldn't be a WL.  I DID say that I'm a really bad one.   :heh:

RANGER? jesus you're a masochist.

Warlock test honestly took me 1 try with really haphazard gear. I brought like 1k slims and left with like 920 lol. Just a phen and a 2 handed weapon. No magic boosting hat or anything. Just SW =>SG 1'd and then used the gems to kill everything pretty much

I thought the ranger test was kinda fun.  I have NO idea what any of it actually had to do with being a ranger, but it was a nice time.

I thought the part of the Ranger test with the bombs was fun... but the baby desert wolf mercenary part basically tested whether you have an AI or not and the poring test was... Well, it was painful before I just plain memorized the info on the wiki >.> Also, failing repeatedly on my first Ranger and making it back to the test NPC without gear... b'uh.

I recently did the Super² Novice test and that was by far the worst. I didn't even have it that bad with 1k Fabres, but I did that in one evening with Napalm Beat spam and have no desire to go through with it ever again. The quest itself was cute... it's just that killing quest...

you do realize you get a free swordfish card for completing overlook dungeon right? .....

i thought the maestro test was just plain annoying as -_- and would gladly do the warlock one anyday over it. ranger one is actually kinda fun. and yea mechanic one sucks balls. my first time doing it i got unlucky and 12 dimmiks all spawned in a giant blob blocking a pathway i needed to get down

mage class isnt for everybody. it requires finesse and a knowhow of what spell to use at a particular time. some people find it overwhelming and completely fail at it. same with priest classes
