Can anyone tell me if the crafter cloths( not sure if cloths only) of artisans are better than drops in dungeons? i saw someone saying that crafted are better than green... i wonder is there is a chance where you will be able to craft rare rank of armor randomly while crafting... is there a chance like that ? or you craft and everything what was said on the receipt is thats everything there is? Thanks ^_~

Anyone who wants to share their artisan experience please feel free to post them here ^_^ Thank you so much

Artisan makes cloth and leather armor in addition to runes. And, yes, it is just what you see on the recipe, no random rares. It does seem like relatively easy leveling since the drop rate for the materials is just fine. Supposedly in the late game, the best crafted gear is only one step behind the very top gear, but VERY hard to get the materials for.

From what I've been able to gather Blacksmiths make slots in your gear that you can place runes in. The runes give your gear more power. I'm not sure what kind yet, as I didn't do the beta, but I imagine more armor, attack damage, or maybe just pure stats.

Runes add stat points (up to +5 for basic Rune crafting, up to +10 for enhanced Runes). Runes can only be added to equips with Rune Holes. If an equip has a "Blind Rune Hole", you will need a "Rune Hole Puncher"(crafted by Blacksmiths) to open the Rune Hole.
It may change here, but on seaRO2(yes, I know this isn't seaRO2) you weren't able to craft bags.
Recipes can be bought from NPCs, and there are some rare Recipe scrolls that are dropped by bosses.
In order to gather ingredients, you kill monsters, loot them, then loot them again.

I assume Artisans only start making money endgame, when they get their rare recipes. Before then dungeon equips are better than what you can craft.

Both are easy to job level, and both have their pros and cons

Alchemy
Pros:
- Easier to gather materials for higher leveled items (Maestro potions)
- Create 5 potions per craft
- Useful throughout your entire leveling experience
- Useful for Raiding
Cons:
- Too easy to make (Market can get saturated with Maestro potions)
- Not worth as much as equipment would be (pretty obvious)
- gets costly to buy potion bottles, over time
- Buff Potions wear off upon death

Artisan
Pros:
- Able to craft Purple Gear (if you get the right recipe scroll)
- Able to make a lot of money (again, if you get the right recipe scroll)
- Useful for Raiding (again, if you get the right recipe scroll)
- Easier to gain job exp (depending on your combat class)
Cons:
- Well, I don't think I need to explain number 1... (Recipe Scroll dependant)
- More difficult/tedious to find high end materials
- Some of the purple gears get outclassed
- Can't make the "lot of money" on a fresh server (people tend to save their money)

Basically, if you've got a consistent raid party, and depending on your combat class, I would recommend Artisan.
If you don't have the consistent raid party, I would recommend Alchemist.

In my opinion potions crafted by an alchemist is far better than what you get from NPC's, since the alchemist has that recipe (Apprentice Artisan's Red Potion) you start off with is the equivalent of the Red Potion (II) that you can start buying when you get to Prontera. You can make money by selling those potions early on plus you make 5 potions per 1 craft. But yeah the artisan is probably endgame profit, since a lot of the materials you need for blue text gears all comes from dungeon runs that may or may not drop when you kill the enemy.

I know you've already hit the thread closer, but I wanted to add that the crafted gear from what I saw looks much better than Dungeon gear. Most of the dungeon gear is fugly and unappealing. To most this doesn't matter, but for some, like myself, I prefer nicer looking gear. Some people have even said crafted gear retains that Ragnarok feel whereas dungeon gear does not.

Ohh I was actually wondering about this! Saw someone with REALLY nice looking outfit (male priest), then I checked the gear set on this forum, and couldn't find it. So I assume it's a crafted gear...? And it can only made by Artisan? I'd totally buy nice looking clothes because I don't want to look bad x__x

If they can only made by Artisan maybe I'll pick the job for my future Sorc.
