New to RO2 - hybrid or FS priest

Hi all,
I am totally new to RO2, though I have played a healer in many other games (FFXI, TERA, SWTOR, RIFT, etc.). I'm stuck on figuring out which type of priest to aim for - since I don't want to buy a reset skill scroll and also want to get to know my skills and rotations (if applicable) from the get go, I want to have a build in mind. That said, it has come down to whether or not i should make a FS or hybrid priest.

I know hybrid will level quite a bit faster with having DoTs and Ray of Genesis, etc..and can even solo mini-bosses in the open world. However, will a hybrid priest be unwanted in endgame raids and also dungeons in general? From what I can tell, I'd mainly be lacking some things from the middle (gloria, suffer, etc.). I guess my main question is, if I want to enjoy my time and be able to level without too much of an issue, yet still be able to heal well in dungeons and raids, is it FS or hybrid? I've read on the SEA boards that there very many priests were hybrid, but I'm not sure of what path is best ^_^v Any help would be greatly appreciated

Among the 3, hybrids are the most taxing in skill requirements as you try to juggle between dealing decent damage as well as providing some sort of utility to justify your value in the raid. Hybrid priests are accepted into raids in general (most of the time people don't even know how to differentiate them save the Sacrement buff effect) - but its up to the player to prove that they can contribute and not be a burden, same applies for FS just that its much easier for a FS to 'pass'.

Worst case you could always just buy a skill reset scroll if you change your mind

Really, do it like this: Hybrid Priests are dominantly a PVP Build. Your PVE Value still exists, but you're really far less valued than an FS priest. DPS Priests (Priests who abandon nearly all of their utility besides Renovatio) are, in my research, 'dead weight'. They offer nothing at this time that a Ranger or Sorcerer cannot do better (Due to the mechanics of DoTs.

If you plan to do any PVP in any lengthy manner, do Hybrid. You will at least get mileage out of that hybrid nature. If you plan to solely PVE, do FS. Do not do DPS unless you have a group of friends willing to deal with the fact you offer -nothing- to make up for the damage loss.

I'm a hybrid, and I do dungeons all of the time successfully. No one can see your build to know if you have Sacrament or Highness Heal maxed or not. And you could still max those and go lighter on the dps side if you wanted to. The only thing people can see is if you have Blessing maxed (so max it). So why take away your ability to solo quest by getting the pretty useless middle row of priest skills (aside from Archangel). Just put skill points into the first and third row of priest skills and you can solo AND successfully be a part of dungeon runs. VachV's guide has some great builds.

It's more healing focused, so If you want, you can take some points out of Highness Heal and/or Sacrament and put them into the DOT's, and still be plenty useful as the healer in a dungeon or raid.
