Posting for my husband:
"I have a level 11 mage, with most skill points in fire bolt and fire ball (going for a wizard build). I'm trying to defeat Priest Reimond to complete the Save the Saintess quest, but I can't even cast quickly enough to attack him reasonably, and my lightning bolt is woefully inadequate (doing single digit damage). Should I grind and level more, and which skills should I focus on? Or is there another tactic I should try instead? I really do NOT want to start over."

I did that quest at level 10, beat him no problem. Although I did frost driver + Lightning bolt tactic.
That boss is a slow attacker, you should be able to pot your way through him.

If you need more beginner potions, I could totally send you some. I'm up to my freaking eyeballs in useless beginner potions(for my level) because the monsters keep dropping them for me.

Even FS acos with holy light 1 beat him.. he didn't buy NPC gear by any chance, did he? check to see if he's in white or green.. if he's in white, he'll be squishier than a marshmallow, and do about as much damage as one.. :/

FS acos can heal themselves... sure it'll take a while but they'll survive.
Agreed about checking for white gear. All you have to do really is spam the fire skills and pot.

Tetsamaru: he'd REALLY appreciate that. He's Pinocchio, and hangs out in Bouquet Village at the moment, on channel 12.
raela: if you mean the training gears, no, we both graduated past those already. We didn't know where to get gears other than the NPCs or occasional drops. He's wearing Forest gear from the cloth armor vendor right now, I presume he needs something better?
I've half a mind to try it myself, just to see what's going on, but he wants to do it himself and I don't want to make a mage just for this.

Gear-wise, always stick to those with a green background. Keep any gear you get from quests/monster drops and stick to them until you find a better green or a blue...maybe even a purple, but that's more endgame.

Always stick with green/blue/purple, never white.edit: I tried to PM, and he isn't on. D: If one of you are artisans, great! You can craft some gear. However, if neither are, I can craft up a set and mail it - I'm going to bed now, but I'll check in the morning. Let me know!

I'm online right now, channel 12, RedMadeline, and he's on right now, same channel, Pinocchio. I'm actually hunting for root of lifes right now to make him some better armor, but if you'd rather have the job exp, you are welcome to it.
