"no one will buy costumes if temporary, unless its 1 year and more..." clearly that isn't the case. people will do anything to look cool, whether its for 1 week, 1 month, 1 year.no one will grind the points if temporary, unless it's 1 year and more...

These are the six different Union costumes you can purchase when you have earned enough Union Points. Note that there are female and male versions of these permanent costumes for each union.

That same website linked above, its the image with all those characters. Those are the costumes.

You can theoretically keep all costumes from all unions right? Like if I leave Magic Academy, I still get to keep their outfit?

Once you've purchased the costume, it's yours. It may take a while, but you can collect them all.You can theoretically keep all costumes from all unions right? Like if I leave Magic Academy, I still get to keep their outfit?

All of the costumes are meant to represent one of RO2's signature characters. It goes a little beyond giving each union a matching outfit to matching a specific character to each union. Since mages get little attention besides Kleindiana and Ivia (both whom already wear standard-issue armour), they simply handed out Dr. Jacob's clothing instead, as there's no Union related to science otherwise.
On a side Note, Eremes's outfit from Darkness Shadow is dreadfully similar to one of the higher level Assassin outfits. Ideally, most would use it to look like an Assassin regardless of their class.
