Sorcerer Help

Okay so this is the build I have right now, I wound up changing a few things while leveling and have come to this.

I just hit 50 now and am wondering do I need to respec because everyone now is saying I should have 5/5 earth shield for the group. I put them in earth emblem instead because I found that to be more important for the group in the long run, but I don't want issues finding groups if not running with my guild.

Any suggestions? Do I have to respec or is this probably good for awhile? And if I DID respec, other than taking 1 out of Lord of Vermillion (which I accidently put in), what other skill should I loose one on to gain 5/5 earth shield?

Your spec will serve you fine for probably a long while, even for raiding. The little adjustments here and there are not going to make a night/day or live/die difference. Don't fret too much if people give give you a hard time for 3/5 Earth Shield. It only gives defense, not defense rating and it has diminished benefits on all the tank classes with the exception of Knights. Also the benefit it gives to lower defense classes is marginal at best. If you really wanted to get 5/5 Earth Shield then pull points from LoV and JT Mastery IMO. JT mastery because the way the proc activates makes it weaker than it is. Many times you will run into a situation where you have already started a cast on JT and the mastery proc would activate midcast and consumes it upon finishing as well, wasting the entire proc. Getting 5/5 LoR though is definitely something you should consider. 1% additional may not seem much but you can look at it as a 10% increase over 4/5 in effectiveness. All in all, don't worry and just have a good time(hopefully).

Thanks for the answer! I think I will run with what I have for now and see how it goes in the long run, waiting for a few guild mates to get to 50 and start running end game stuff. The build I have works well with our priest because she and I work together on heals nicely, I think.

I thought the Earth Shield went something like that, that's why I wasn't worried about it, but people seemed mad in groups for some reason. Maybe next time I will explain it the way you just did.

Ask them to note what their defense is before and after you cast earth shield. Most likely the effect is much smaller than they imagined it, which might make them believe earth shield kind of sucks more easily.
