The maps do not display for me at all when I go to world map. It goes to a transparent black screen and shows the icon for my person but that's it, it doesn't actually display the map. As well as the mini map for the cities do not show. It will show the points or markers for NPC's in revelance to my position. But does not show the image of the map itself.

I am currently running Linux Mint, and I am running the game through Wine version 1.4 through the program PlayOnLinux. I have been searching everywhere for any information to even get the game to run in linux and everything is outdated from 2010. So I can't confirm if it is because I'm running it through Wine or not. I wasn't able to find anything in the technical support FAQ's on a map display issue either, So any help in this would be wonderful. Everything else in the game is working smoothly and perfectly so far though.

This user has ROSE running on another Debian based distro and Wine 1.4.1, perhaps he could step in and provide some information on how he got the game running.  Unfortunately none of us have machines running Linux to debug issues, and Wine does have issues of supporting certain texture formats from the looks of it.

Thank you so much for the info. I'm not completely savy when it comes to programming and such. I messaged them, perhaps they can help me out. If not, I may have to give in to the beast and switch to windows.

She*

The icons are fantastic!  Whoever modified the filetypes, I love them to pieces.  Still troubleshooting the compatibilities with the filetypes supporting certain minimaps (only a handful don't show) as well as the world map.

I'll be sure to post something when I've made significant progress. :)

Glad to hear you've got icons displaying correctly (the files were apparently updated for another reason, but glad it made a difference all the same).  I've converted what should be all of the XRGB formatted minimaps and world map files to ARGB and RBG for next patch, so fingers crossed that resolves the rest of your display issues.

It belatedly occurred to me that I forgot to check the maps for Kenji Beach, Forest of Wisdom and Gorge of Silence.  However!  The important thing to note is that I have maps!   :thx:

All of them!

And the World Map, too!  :p_love:

I have to confess that it's actually weird to be able to see where I'm navigating for the maps that were originally blank.  I had actually gotten used to navigating blind.

Not that I'm complaining, in the slightest!  Thank you so much for undertaking this project, Genesis. :)  I look forward to testing out the new patch and being able to provide some feedback on how the various pros and cons affect myself as well as my friends. :)

:p_hi:
