I'm a bit new in the game (use to play RO1) I have mostly a few questions:

1)  is Monk good or bad?. I use to play a monk in Ro and I love it for solo play, but reading a bit in the forums it says it suck that is like the worst class you can use in RO2

2) I´m getting big time problems leveling my acolyte because after 2 kill i'm out of mana.

should I go for assassin or keep my way to monk?

i saw a good way to level as a acolyte From lvls 1 to 25 ---> Maxing your Only DoT "Oratio" if i recall Helps you to deal dmg alot while not spending much sp also if you are having problems with sp then its good to put couple points on WIS just for the 1 - 25 lvling.

You get free Stat and Skill Reset when you Change job at lvl 25.

just read this thread since it's almost the same as your in terms of "how good is monk"

http://forums.warppo...k/#entry1675019

tl;dr monk is worst class so either make assassin or beastmaster/warrior (if you want to be more tanky and sacrifice a bit dmg)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
you will faster become old man that will mostly spend his time with his grandchildren/on watching old movies before Gravity makes Monk as good as BM/Warr in terms of dps bruiser role or even give him full/pure dps build path that could be on same level as assassin
well unless you are looking for tank then meh you can try monk but he isn't "super star" when it come to solo play (no self heal, buffs, mobility, etc)... RO2 monk isn't as close as fun to play as RO1 monk and Gravity gives a puppy about it sadly and prefers to:
invest in/buffs assassins,
make good reworks like for BM
or just release new classes (loli demon elves = noels)
You want an honest answer from a monk main who suffered since day 1?
Go Monk.
People saying monk is awful is because monk WAS awful. It was the worst class in the game before AoV. It was terrible. Heck, who knew what would happen if I didn't gather what remained of the monk community to make a huge topic about it. Monk was trash and it was only those who invested time and money into that class to make it appear decent.
But now...
Right now every class can easily kill things and do it well.
Monk can solo fine like every other class, but for a class Monk has absolutely garbage mobbing. You put 6 points into their only AoE and it still has a cooldown and long animation while the other tanks and DPS classes can enjoy strong AoE with relatively no cooldown.
For a tank you have no heal or party buffs. You're as useless to a party unless it was with guildies/friends. Your AoE sucks and you can't fight off multiple monsters as easy as other tanks.
For a DPS you have only few advantages - You have defensive buffs, high health, an easy burst combo, and the best stun in the game. Compared to Assassin, they have higher damage, defensive buffs (including healing), decent health, high critical and dodge, an easy burst combo, and a very strong stun.
Basically Monk right now has potential thanks to Summon Spirit Sphere making their skills double effective.
So Monk being worst class is not the case anymore. Knight is the worst class at the moment.
Once they fix AGI and hit/dodge, monk should have the highest dodge rate in the game, making them the best 1v1 class. No other class can potentially shut down a character for 10 seconds, have a burst attack of 1680% x2, and have a 5% chance to cause a stun state where your 1680% becomes only 1680% + 100% more damage. But right now its more of a... miss miss miss miss.
As a player who also mained a monk since week 2. I have spent some money for 3slot costumes, +9 +10 agi runes, blue rare+ cards, maintaining both dps and tank sets, refining weapons, and lvl 4 mermaid. Spent some time in PvP to improve skill and work around flaws. I can say right now that I am above avg player in the ro community.
After AoV patch, well...monk did improve, but not as much compared to the other melee classes.
