@arbalist
thx for the inputs. and i think i might be getting the same skills before getting into ML.

@turniper
i've seen your build in another post but yours is a full dps which im not exactly fond of. if i were to become one though, i'd be exactly like yours.

1. well ive never been good at pvp using a BM lol pre-aov was like relying on survivability than actually hitting the enemy hard and fast. but just to make sure, what are the pvp skills that im lacking?

3. here's the thing with rage smash. i know that a lv10 gives out twice the damage than a lv1 BUT it consumes 9 points! that's a lot dont you think? so, im a little unsure whether i should get this maxed or not. i like that it gives out twice the damage but its consuming too much points.

as for beast tornado, i used to put this to my rotation as it it builds threat. do you think this will still be in rotation? maybe @arbalist could answer since he agreed on lv6 tornado.

i get what you mean for fury and brutal strike being better since these two are designed for attacking and tornado as mob control but.... i dont know what to say anymore. i suddenly dont know how i feel about this skill lol

4. such as feral and survival? and presumably beast charge (and i suppose gaia)?

the thing about BM now is that basically all the skills are good. we have 15 skills (without gaia+carnival) and only 1-2 skills are totaly worthless.

I think I originally learned to PVP from Turniper too (there were videos maybe?), so I would agree with that build. In single target fights, you would be using Rage Smash much more often to build beast points which is crucial (and to take advantage of that Frenzy buff when possible), so strengthening it is reasonable to me. Speaking of Frenzy, I believe only Rage Smash and Wild Crush works with it anyways, whereas Fury Strike is currently not recognized. In the PVP/DPS build, you would also invest a lot more into stun skills so that you don't need the slightly longer range of Tornado to chase down targets quite as much either.

I use Beast Tornado in my AOE rotation while Fury Strike and Brutal Strike are on cooldown in order to maximize damage. There is enough time between Fury Strike cooldowns to deal 1 to 2 attacks, so that's my filler skill. Tornado maxed deals about the same damage as Rage Smash maxed, but generates 100% more threat, so it definitely helps if you need more threat. With Fury Strike gaining a max of 30 BP per hit in a mob of 3 or more and Wild Crush gaining 16-24, I don't really need to Rage Smash for more beast points either.

Can't give you much advice on PVP since my style is adapted to pre-AOV Colosseum.

One thing I would like to change is that bms get HASTE?!? from our osi weapon. Haste, when all our skills are instacast, except ymir. Change that to hit, or vigor.

Haste affects weapon attack speed. It's Cast Speed that affects cast time. I'm sure most people would love more hit or vigor, but Haste is a valid melee class stat. My issue with equipment (beyond the overly inflated stats) is that Haste is more of a DPS stat, whereas Tank BMs don't have a gear set of their own like pre-AoV (Dodge/Parry might actually help us in this broken game). Of course adding more Dodge/Parry while we still have the highest HP/Def will just make the imbalance between tanks that much greater.

Thanks for making that clearer. I didn't know it affects weapon speed. Then it's not completely useless. But still I think almost every other class gets hit in their weapons (feel free to correct if im wrong). But we have high defense, even in bear form. I have 64% as dps. Low hit and high def, actually not that bad combo. It just would be nice to hit someone :D

Hello kumas,
Now I know Colosseum is an absolute lulz-ville now, but for future consideration, how would you feel about the following suggestion:

  • Make it so Bear/Tiger/Grizzly forms are not cancelled upon death.

Other class semi-permanent toggles aren't disabled upon death (ie. Aura Sword, Aura Shield, Steel Body etc.) but ours is*. When we start up Grizzly again, we are basically start off with roughly 60% of our total HP. Even if we have high Defense and HP, when I see someone with 60% HP, I would intuitively focus more on attacking that character. It's bearable (hah.) but it still feels like a handicap regardless. Looking at it in this way, we wouldn't be starting off at equal footing with other classes, so there's potential for imbalance in that sense.

That's really all I have to say for this, I'm kinda burnt out from writing essays, but I'd like to know if anyone supports or opposes this (BM or otherwise). I am obviously biased towards this since I'm playing the full tank build, so I am gonna let other people discuss it instead. Rawrs.

*Correct me if I'm wrong, haven't played my Warrior and Monk in a while

Hello everyone

I need help on a new build for my Lvl 34 beastmaster. I returned playing the game and all my skill and stat point are reset. So i would like to know if there is a significant change on beastmasters after AoV update and as today.

Can someone help me with suggestions for a build at my level?

Which stats and skills should i focus more? (AGI, INT only?)

which cards are recommended, which equipment should i focus?

Btw Thanks!!

BMs are like heaven and earth after and before AoV. Beastmasters are now capable to win duels easily (especially against melees), still has the highest HP but with much more defense than ever. BMs are also capable on doing 'good' DPS in raids (or so I call dungeon as there are no raids in the current state of the game) with level 10 Fury Strike, Cruel Bite and Rage Smash. BMs can reduce defense by 30% (actually 10% but stackable up to 3 times) by using Wild Crush when maxed. And there is one more reason why BMs are prefered now than before AoV: BM can now self-heal for 30% HP in one strike (Cruel Bite) and got extra damage from Wild Crush. You basically want to use Cruel Bite every now and then in PVP except when you are against Priests/SMs. They are hard to fight as a BM, but vs anyone else is easy especially against melees.

P.S: Cruel Bite can also reset Brutal Strike's CD when you got Predator buff if you are a DPS BM using Bear Form (a buff you get when you have 100 beast power on Bear Form. 30% chance rate on activating). This what makes DPS BM is viable right nao.

Usually the choice is between Grizzly Form or Bear form. I personally think that Bear form is not worth it because the so called 30% Attack bonus is actually much less in the post-AOV damage formula. It ends up being roughly only 8% additional damage. Grizzly Form makes life much much easier, so easy that you can probably solo everything, but if you like to look at your character/costumes, you might not like to be in Grizzly all the time. If you use Grizzly, I recommend something like this: http://ro2base.com/b...1.1.1/0.0.0.0.0
I also recommend saving up skill points after you get these basic skills because once you hit Master Level, some of your skill caps will double but the game won't give you a free reset. Try not to invest in both forms at your level, it's not worth it. When you eventually hit Master Level, max out all your attack skills. This is the build I used for Master Levels, before farming for my skill points: http://ro2base.com/b...1.1.1/0.0.0.0.0

First with stats, BMs get the most benefit from Str, Vit, and Agi. Personally I'm a pure Vit build, but Pure Str is popular lately.  I can honestly say my pure Vit Build doesn't contribute too much other than showing off giant HP numbers we can reach, because I'm that bored. I don't think the bonus from Agi is worth it compared to Vit or Str, but someone with that type of build might be able to comment. Just don't invest on Int or Wis, you don't need those. You can read Part 1A of this thread for more details on the specific bonuses: http://forums.warppo...d-kafra-update/

As said above, the stats to focus on are Str, Vit, and Agi, so for now, I would just pick any cards that have decent amounts of those 3. At your level, cards don't matter. At level 50, you might want Mummy cards to start off (High Str and Vit). I wouldn't go out of my way to buy them, but up to you.

In terms of Equipment, just use whatever you get from quests or dungeons. If you have a Pandora Spear from opening Pandora Boxes, that will get you to level 50 no problem. Most raid equipment is useless now, but I hear some people are struggling with the Master Level Change quest so you might be doing a few Bapho/PVE raids for gear before getting to Master Level. Once you get to Master Level, pick up a set of Desert Scorpion or Craft for Menace.

P.S: Cruel Bite can also reset Brutal Strike's CD when you got Predator buff if you are a DPS BM using Bear Form (a buff you get when you have 100 beast power on Bear Form. 30% chance rate on activating). This what makes DPS BM is viable right nao.

Cruel Bite also resets Brutal Strike in Grizzly form, so that's not the best argument for DPS BM.

I've been a Beastmaster since day 1 and understand the game pretty well, so hopefully that adds a grain of credibility to what I have to say. Feel free to message me in game at Arbalist if you have questions. I'm usually AFK but sometimes I might be there. Have fun.

^ oh yeah forgot to put the Boundary effect too. I used Bear because it doesn't transform you to a bear. Makes costumes not worth to use. Still Bear form is still better than Grizzly for DPS. The lack of ymir hurts, 8% from Bear and 8% from Ymir translates to 16% extra damage which is good to up your DPS.

Good point about Ymir Form. Grizzlies typically won't be using it. I think the only way is to use Ymir Form before changing into Grizzly (unless they patched this, not sure). At his level, it's probably more ideal to focus on only one form, but both forms are fine in the current state of the game, since everyone can do (pretty much) everything. Regardless of which form he chooses to main, he can have enough points to invest in both once he starts buying skill points.

Ymir form for Grizzly has been suggested in the past and we can only hope that the Developers choose to listen to VCR this time around.

Yeah, really hope there is an option to toggle between bear and human appearance when using both forms. It is ridiculous to have one form with transformation and none in the other. Welp, can't help it since the devs are busy updating costumes and more costumes to gain profit. No time to fix some minor problem like this lawl.

Rant aside, thank you for your informations!

Hi rzevidz!

thanks for your help!

i didnt knew BM have become a little ''better'' against melee, i have a knight too and its a little difficult to start making a new build different from what i had pre Aov, i will check your suggestions for my BM and my knight.

Thanks for your comments and your help!

Hi Arbalist!

Your reply seems so helpful! thanks!!

and its a good advice because i had the two bears pre AoV and I was thinking on doing the same this time. I will level all on Grizzly form, and wait until ML :D

On cards and equipment i believe I'm ''fine'' at my level right now, but its great to know what should i get at later levels

I will try to do this build you suggest me!

Thanks for your comments and your help!
