Well thunderstorm build pretty much suffered quite a bit as of the update, considering vigor got messed up. I'm not sure I can even cast 2 thunderstorms in 1 meteor storm cast animation anymore.

 

I haven't tried it on osi yet to see how it fares though. A maxed out embus could still help quite a bit in there I guess.

Err VCRs, will there be planned skill changes that mitigate the rather large reduction of Vigor, or are we pretty much SOL when it comes to cooldowns?

Sure, pre-patch, 50% vigor is OP, but why was it nerfed so hard? Because of the additional MATK?

you really need to push hard for improvement to flame explosion...so useless in pvp

 

in today's pvp, it takes ~1-3 hits to end a fight..never gonna get a chance to use a "wiz's ultimate attack"

There are multiple types of PvP:

  • Duels with everyhing (including pots)
  • Duels without pots, ymir, etc. => makes a lack of healing skills more severe
  • Coloseum => time-based kill/death ratio
  • Jahoon => team vs.team
  • ongoing WoE => Mass-fights and killing the Empirium
  • quest WoE => you don't know if or when someone attacks you => stun/knockdown can end fights before they really start

Therefore speaking only about one form of PvP is quite a bit narrow-minded.

Don't forget the HP decrease and HIT increase. A proper vigor rate also balances animation time with cooldown. So the lower your vigor, the more attractive a Meteor Swarm becomes in comparison to a Thunderstorm.
