Classic Event! Design a headgear effect for the 4 Leaf Clover in Mouth!

In this week's Groove pack is the Four Leafed Clover in Moth headgear, a cute gear that fits with the St. Patrick's day theme, but as we found had no effects. As a forum event I wanted to have the community get a crack at designing a fun effect for this headgear that isn't involving green ales. 

Post the winning suggestion and get a free named 4 leaf clover in mouth!

It will have LUK+3 at the very least.

Make it like the chewing gum but with a chance to get a BM or job BM effect. That's the only "lucky" thing i could think of. Or maybe potters would like +1 luk (edit: oh i guess it had +3 before, was just thinking that the other gears all give +1). :/

+3 luk, +1 perfect dodge, has a 1-5% chance of the user gaining 1-100 zeny when a monster is killed or alternative to that, a chance of dropping Treasure Boxes to aid in the supplying for Condensed Whites for WoE.

add a small chance to drop a teleport scroll that teleport you to lunatic land!

That's the only reason I bought any. This effect was in pre-renewal before this.

I think that would be badass

Another idea I had is:

Infused with the power of the blarney stone

+3 luk

Enables the use of find stone/stone toss

This would be a nice "fun" effect.

Just make it's analog to renweal's: +3 luk.

Or 4 luk one luk per leaf.

Well, traditionally each leaf is supposed to represent something.
 

 

the first is for faith, the second is for hope, the third is for love, and the fourth is for luck.

We have a faith skill. Could give it level 1 of that.

I don't know what RO would have that best symbolizes hope.  Maybe gum or bm or jm proc?

The only skill I know that outright mentions love could be a proc of "Mom, Dad, I love you" and give you 2 minutes of 0 xp loss on death.

Luck, we have as a stat.

So, idk, you could monkey with those effects if you wanted to be traditional.

I think having it cast gloria while attacking would be most appropriate.

Oh, then again, if you wanted it to be lucky in the Ragnarok sense, well, let's look at the Norse

 

Dagaz D Day, Good Luck Good Luck Charm; Invites Spiritual Growth Fire / Air

Dagaz was the nordic rune of luck.  So you could have a lot of fun with "spiritual growth" or the Fire and Air nature of the rune.

Not really sure what you could tie into spiritual growth.  I'd say either a BM proc, or the really crazy idea of a chance to get extra xp/jxp on a kill, like of like the procs with the Witch Pumpkin hat, where you say something like "Bloody Party!" and get a moment of sweets dropping you could incite the name of Dagaz and, if you get a kill in a small window, bam, more xp.  As long as you still gave it a stat it could still have use to max level players while staying attractive for others.

well, we'll start with luk+3. obviously, 4lcs are associated with luck and being lucky, right ? isn't there an effect that literally makes you go 'Lucky !' in game ? There is ! I say keep it simple, give it 3-5 perfect dodge c: that or the gloria effect sounds neat. not too overpowered, but still pretty useful for the right builds

Or if it dropped lucky rice cakes by chance

On the wearer? That seems harsh. Though maybe we can make O'Riley's smiling face appear everytime shouting "They're after me lucky charms!"

Finally, you could play on the idea of the "Luck of the Irish."

Where, in the traditional sense, if you found a 4 leaf clover you could trade it with a leprechaun for gold.  But then it'd just be a Cramp card...

idk about having it cast level 5 gloria.  Yes, it's a short duration.  But, well, I suppose I should be happy that's one less skill I'd have to cast on my priest. :/

But Lucky Rice Cake drops sound interesting.

you know what u can make it do this luk+3  and chance to cast crazy irish uproar   since u dont want it casting damage skills to attacking targets

It wouldn't really be a problem since it's when you attack as opposed to the grand peco set.

I still think it's the most practical effect and the luk boost is nice and fitting for a four leaf clover.

The problem with it dropping stuff like gold is that it has a high sell price to npcs, so bots would absolutely love it.

If you make it an abysmal drop rate then real players will feel like it never procs.

You know 4 leaves on a clover is a genetic mutation?  So if you really want fitting for a geneticly mutated clover, give it a polymorph effect.  Or make it drop plants.  Or a chance to do bad things to you since it's a genetic mutation and you're sticking it in your mouth.

LUK+3, DEF+2, randomly causes the wearer to say drunk jokes when attacking.

I guess the issue is, we cant' make it too good.

Give it the chance to drop something nice?  Bots would abuse it.

Give it an autocast?  Get stuck in aftercast delay.
