A friendly Class Rep, Jero, came with an idea about a new skill for Artisan - he went to an Artisan Rep. After some discussion over skype we came up with something we both were rather pleased with as a suggestion.

 

 

Unique Skill: Marksman's Mark

Dodge Down Effect; A % value that scales with charm OR 10% +150

duration 6-8secs,
cooldown 20-22 secs

Pre-Req Marksman's Shot level 5
A non-damaging ability as opposed to the pre-req


Animation: The Artisan loads his gun and fires 2 bullets. The bullets passes on either side of the victim rendering it 'confused'. A big mark appears above its head (additional to the regular dodge down sign), much like the crosshair you can see on the skill icon, and stays there for the remainder of the duration.

 

As Artisans in general seldom makes use of Charm in their builds let's give them an incentive.

I believe is not necessary for an arti to have an dodge down skill. Since the main stats for arti is con which give accuracy and. with the con buff available, all dealers should had sufficient accuracy to dealt with high dodge characters. My BA had no problem shooting any hawker characters.

 

In my opinion the main agenda for artisan is item for them to craft. The lower tier item is totally worthless to craft. I believe needless to said why. 

As for battle artisan is to improve their survivability in PVP and PVM. In PVP if you lucky that team up with some good cleric your survivability may last few more sec or else is a joke to PVP on any others job 1 on 1.  PVM so far i never see an arti go farming.

Artisan already has 2 con passives, and depending on Cannon or Arti 1-2 accu passives, with main stat being CON for both, I doubt they need a dodge down. 

 

A better supplement would be Crit Down, or Def down. 

There's already a mdef down for magic shot, and that gets rarely used.

It's a suggestion to make the class more teamoriented. It already have a very weak dodge down, this would be a unique version of it - wich would have potential to help their team alot more by showing everyone 'shoot at this guy'. And it goes in line with the idea that Artisan really shouldn't miss often. Atm GunBourgs favour a far greater advantage due to their 100%aspd buff. This dodge down wouldn't be near equal to that. Trying to make a rather crappy skill useful.

Adding a def down isn't really needed as we have pierce def. Adding a crit down seems unfair to toher classes as Artisans already have high aspd (wich is good for crit builds) and can get a decent amount of crit already.

This suggestion of improved dodge down would let them drop some accu gear and pick more crit based items = a little bit of the same thing as adding a crit down without adding more debuffs to the class/game.


The reason why mdef rarely (I would say never) is getting used is because this isn't a magical class and it's an odd thing to have :)
However in the future, when aspd been nerfed, I can see this being used to up the Artisan class and promote the use of skills.

I would like to suggest a lower atk speed instead of dodge down. 30% ~40%. This will give a chance for a BA to survive a gang bang by raiders.

If you're aiming that skill at any class besides the katar raider, it's going to be pretty detrimental.

Team Oriented.....allow ur team mate to have a chance to escape or evade massive attack + is good for PVM too.

The amount of status downs is already high, adding more is also something to consider. Too many dilutes the effects, eventually you'll be constantly negating buffs all the time.

With the damage HP % cap, unless they use a burn, and wait for a 10%+ HP, then it should always be atleast 3 hits.

We all know though that the only reason mages don't hit more than they already do is cause of that damage cap.

No matter what the cap is Bourg and Arti  def or HP need to changes or improve.

Def won't save you against a mage, and they'll just do more damage if you increase the HP cap, cause they're already capping it.

 

If you want something to give Arti / Bourge something to help them survive, give them an AP down, it'd be the most effective ailment you could inflict on someone.

well artis need there attak speed or beter i feel its to slow as it is now and thay need a good aoe at 2 job and thay need beter defence maybe alter there def on armors or something i dunno just thinking out loud here thos 3 is kinda my main reason i kinda never do pvp at all anymore whit my artisan 1 or 2 hit and i die is no fun in that :P

Agree. Improve the defense  for an arti is a must.

 

PVM / Leveling

 

  • So far after evo i did not see a arti solo his way up to max lvl. Mainly all arti leech his way up.
  • Never never see an arti doing farming.

 

PVP

  • Weak
  • Limited of skill to def himself. 

This is what i see weakness as an arti in PVP and PVM.

How to improve the artisan to be more appealing in ROSE i believe we need to discuss.

I agree, I had to get my arty from 205 to 230 by leeching from friends at scorpions.  Thank the lord TA and a few others helped me.  ;)
