Level 85 and Level 90 armor

I Heard  that they were going to replace level 85 armors with level90 armors is that true ?

rather putting these ugly pieces ingame beside 85 - would be nice to get some infos about stats and maybe finally the ability to make any item look like another (like many other mmos have ingame by default)
