Was wondering if we can use ENBs. ENBs are pretty much a post process shader, so it does not modify anything within the client. It modifies what is sent to the display from the GPU. Post processing effects are typically handled by shaders within the client, but those particular shaders are not on within Requiem.

Pretty cool!

And yes, we can use it.

Thank you Cleffy for sharing this with us.

In order to use an ENB, you must download the package from enbdev. That part is from the license agreement, you must download the base files from the authors site.

http://enbdev.com

When you get to ENB Dev, you won't know where to go. Here are the steps to download.

1. Click on 'News' at the bottom of the page

2. Click on 'DOWNLOAD' in the top navbar

3. Click on 'Generic mods' from the list

4. Under the ad click on 'v0.0076'

5. Click the '[▼]' button to download

Once you have the packet, extract it then follow these steps to install.

1. Open the 'Wrapper' folder.

2. Move 'd3d9.dll' to your 'Requiem/system' folder

3. Move 'enbseries.ini' to your 'Requiem' folder

Now when you open the game, you should see some green text in the upper left corner about the enbseries version you have installed. By default the effects are off. While in game you can turn them on by pressing ctrl-f12. However, at first this will look really bad.

From here you will need to make some changes to the 'enbseries.ini'. You can open it in a text editor. Its a basic ini-file so it follows the same formatting rules as other ini.

I will give a quick breakdown of each section without going into too much detail.

[GLOBAL]

UseEffect: Turn this to 1 to have the enb on once you start the application.

AlternativeDepth: Turn this to 1, Requiem seems to use alternative depth.

AllowAntialias: For Requiem this should not make any difference and you should probably set a profile for requiem.exe in your driver settings to handle AA.

BugFixMode: This has a setting between 0-5 and handles what format the effect is processed in. By default NVidia should be set to 0 and AMD set to 1. I have mine set to 2 which uses a lot more info at a performance hit.

SkipShaderOptimization: I have mine set to 1, not sure if it makes an impact.

QuadVertexBuffer: I have mine set to 1, but probably won't do anything.

EnableShaders_3_0: I have mine set to 1, it uses shader model 3.0 instead of 2.0 for the specific screen effects.

UseMRTRendering: I have mine set to 1, but it will not make a difference since Requiem does not use deferred shading.

[EFFECT] ;tells what is active.

I only have Bloom enabled. All the other effects fall into 2 categories, won't do anything or will produce an undesirable effect.

[BLOOM]

The main values here are BloomScreenLevelDay, BloomScreenLevelNight, and BloomAdaptionScreenLevel. These tell the ENB when its light or dark outside. The adaption is when its too bright to bloom. I set mine to 40, 20, 80. The other values can be adjusted to taste. Some contrast can be adjusted at this step as well.

[COLORCORRECTION]

This I just made some screen color adjustments to make it look appropriate. Once again I set the day and night screen levels.

I increased the darkening amount to 20 for both day and night. I used GamaCurveNight to increase contrast at night. I used ColorSaturationDay -1 to reduce the saturation during the daytime.

Rest I adjusted to taste, only other categories that have an effect with my settings is the ENGINE, PERPIXELLIGHTING, and LIMITER. There is documentation on enbdev to understand what each setting does.

Also, its good to note a lot of screen capture software will not work with an ENB. The way I got around it was I setup to play in windowed mode and set the screen capture to capture that area of the desktop. If you are using something like fraps where you find the DX socket, then you end up having conflict and the color becomes inverted and the game will not let you login.

This should be implemented as an option in game graphic, new players would be surprised.
