[Event] 8/8 Fishing Quest Guide!

I am having this terrible luck..............50 meats used as bait and i get 50 novice slippers as return..........whats going on??

Well, the town NPCs had to put them somewhere after all those players keep dropping Novice gears all over the place once they job change. Town dumps can only hold so much.

That aside, I'm disappointed there's no boot being fished up.

I was tempted to but decided on the slippers.

There are 3 spots in byalan. One is in the lower right jaw area.

Comodo -> shark, use meat

Alberta -> sturgeon, use tentacle

I just got an Octopus in Comodo... used the normal Fish Rod and Meat

btw, what's the difference between the rods? Just the size? lol

man i feel betrayed, i expent my day fishing to finally get enoguh for a couple of pieces thinking that they where costumes as its class says  and when i finnaly got my hands on the armor and garmet  i equiped them and the are not costumes , i repeat "They are not costumes".

dont waste your time peeps, im now about to go to sleep and i feel afraid of having nightmares of ragnarok fishing.

they would be so awesome if they were indeed costumes , but they are not...

not costumes and also they are not giving any effect not hp +500 nor sp +50.........

As you can see from the screenshot the Egir Manteau does state that its a costume, but it gets equiped into the general equipment menu. Like ems422 noted, none of the effects seem to be working properly. I wouldn't steer people away from the event, its just a unsighted bug in need correcting and or a typo too. Wheather this stuff is actually supposed to be slotted costume ware or normal general ware is probably gonna be the deciding factor behind most people's mind.

Me on the other hand ... I just want my 500hp bonus effect lol

Edit : I think I just realized why i'm not getting the 400hp bonus effect, might have to wear the whole set to get it ; _ ;

there are no costume armor/manteau/boots, just shadow gears. if they were shadow gears, they would probably be named such. with those stats, i wouldn't expect them to be costumes anyway.

Good point, noticed that the real stuff has "Shadow" after its named, also is classified as Shadow Armor in the menu.

Definitely not worth doing outside of the novelty factor for most people.

I hope the treasure maps are more worthwhile.

I didn't even notice a cast time? Does it apply to the really horrible fishing in new world?

Was wondering this myself.  From what I can tell from testing, yes the small fishing rod does... if you equip it.

Welp I tried it.

Those fishing cast reducing gears were designed for the new world fishing thing, not related to this iRO original event.

holy crap... just had to fight a "Hooked Tentacle" while fishing in Bayalan using meat... i got 30 blue whales for just landing it... it can hit pretty hard and tried using storm gust on me...
