Hello, my name is Alex.

I am putting on a pvp tournament to find out who the best champion on the server is! I will be running a PVP event, with some help from friends, to determine the best champion currently playing. There will be prizes, there will be upsets, and their will be blood!!!!

Registration (you can register now)

-The ONLY way to register via the forums. Copy/paste this format and reply via PM or in the thread, whatever you fill out will be public.

-There is no fee to participate. It is a free shot at winning some cool prizes!

-Must be a champion class

Tournament Rules

-Participants need to be ready 15~30 min before the tournament. We will be starting on time, if you are not ready you will be DQ'd.

-Participants must be on a predetermined raidcall or ventrilo, this is to allow me to talk with participants and ensure a smooth/fast tournament with minimal downtime. Action is important.

-Bring your own character, champion class only

-Bring your own gear, any gear is allowed*

-All consumables are allowed, except for Mercs and buff scrolls (example: no Assumptio)

-Must stay in the designated area for the tournament, any issues with this will result in immediate disqualification

-No cheating, any issues with this will result in immediate disqualification along with reports to the GMs.

-Must be ok with being recorded/streamed

-Must have a sense of humour

*There is no way that I can monitor/prove players are following the gear restrictions.

**Epic Play Prize will be determined by me at any point in time. It is to reward a player for a truly epic play. It could be anything like non stop hide dodging to a unique way of killing somebody.

Tournament Format

-Double elimination format

-Byes will be determined via battle royals to earn the byes at the start of the tournament, if byes are needed to complete the bracket.

-Brackets will be randomly made by me

-Due to bracket reasons, to determined the player/players who will get "byes"... We may have to run a couple of "battle royals" before the tournament begins to determine who gets the bye. All participants will take part, the last champ standing wins the bye. This might have to be repeated to properly fill in the brackets.  

-Each round is a best of 3 matches, double KO results in a "redo" of that single match

-Final matches for the winners of the "winning" bracket and the "losing" bracket will be best out of 5.

-Winner is declared

-Grand finally will be a "free for all Battle Royal" with its own unique prize pool

How can I view the tournament?

The tournament will be streamed. Direct links will be provided here on the forums and I believe there will be an in game announcement with the URL.

Where will the tournament be held?

There is a custom map for this event and it might be used for future ones! It is designed so that spectators in game can also see the fights

-POSTPONED DUE TO BREAKING THE SERVER UNTIL OCTOBER 11th! SAME TIME SAME PLACE!

-Consumables update: No mercs and no buff scrolls of any kind. This is to ensure that fights will end and no player will get a free 50% less damage buff, ever.

-Fixed the tournament format. Double elimination.

-Added requirement for either being on a predetermined raidcall or vent. This is only here as a way for me to communicate with the participants to ensure that the tournament will be moving along at a reasonable rate. If anybody has a problem with this, get a hold of me ASAP I will accommodate you. 

-Added a requirement to be ready early/on time. Participants will be DQ'd if they are not ready at the beginning of the tournament. This is strictly about keeping the tournament moving at a reasonable pace. 

-Added new prize pool for the winner of the losing bracket

Why donate to the prize pools?

-Free advertisement of w/e message you wish if you donate. Ad's will be made throughout the tournament. It could be a great chance to recruit players or get your name out there as a ranked potter! The oppertunities are limitless!

-This is a community driven/run event. Let's support our own community!

Where do donations go? What does my donation impact?

-Donations only effect prize rewards. If you donate items, they will all be added to the rewards. If you donate zeny it will help to pay for the 3 d. robes and I could always buy more items (seeds/berrys) to put in as prize rewards. None of the donations will be for personal use at all, they will directly go towards prize rewards for those competing. 

How to donate?

-PM me with the information on what you want to donate

Options for advertisements

-Donations could be public or anonomous. I will assume it is public unless you state otherwise.

- ANY donation will get your name and what your donation is posted on the main post. It will also be vocally reconized multiple times on the stream through out the tournament.

-Donations equaling ~20,000,000 zeny value and higher will get you custom ad's. Let your creativity go wild! You could make a graphic SS or short clip for us to play on the stream to advertise whatever you want (Ragnarok Online related ads ONLY).

-Donations equallying ~100,000,000 zeny value and higher will get your custom ad's played multiple times. I will try to think of additional incentives.

Crude examples of "advertisements"

An example of this would be something like an add like... "Thank you RANKED ALCHEMIST, he was kind enough to donate 10,000 slims and 40,000 ranked blues! Lets see what he has to say!" "Buy your ranked slims/blues and bomb sets from RANKED ALCHEMIST! Always located at 430,750 prontera! We do cusmtom orders and bulk discount pricing. Check out my post (insert link) on the WP forums for more information.".

Or another example... "Thank you Dragon Coke guild for your gracious donation of 10 valk armors and 1 GTB card!, lets see what they have to say!" "The Dragon Coke Guild is looking for YOU! We are an active PVM/MVP/ET/WOE guild that is very welcoming to new players. We play for fun and enjoy the game for what it is. -Working on a promotional video featuring champ vs champ fights. I will be in pvp tonight hoping to record and start editing a video for this. I will ask you ahead of time if I can use your footage. Any free/available champs that would like to help create some fun action to watch please let me know or just go to pvp

Looking for help 

-Looking for a single individual to help me out for the event. The volunteer job would be very simple. All that it requires is the volunteer to be present in the raidcall/vent with the players and communicate with me. Basically relay any issues and or problems from players to me via voice communication. Also pass information from me to players. This role does require you to be present at the computer throughout the tournament. Please PM me if your interested, must speak at least English (other langues do help, but I can only do English ).

Update: Where is the tournament being held?

-The exact location is not known, yet. However, the awesome staff at Warpportal are exceeding all expectations with helping for this event! The map is still in alpha form, so it is not completed yet... We wanted to show you guys so that you can get a sneak peak!!!! The map will have the tournament fights happen in the middle of the map well spectators in game can actually watch it happen live! 

The Colosseum!!!!! There will be blood!!!!!
