I know this is probably going to be an unpopular one but the first floor of Eden is just a damn mess of chats to get through and gets so laggy.
Is it not possible to just disable chat rooms from that entire first floor room >.>? Have people put up their chats in the kitchen or another map.

They can disable chats next to NPCs etc so you would think they can do it for more of the map.

As you said it's based on zones (I presume you're talking about zones close to an NPC?) so just make the entire area a non usable zone i.e: just extend the surrounding NPC effect.

That's not what I mean though. Haven't you noticed you can't put up a chat next to NPCs? They have some coding that blocks you from opening a chat window within a certain radius of them. I'm just saying use whatever system is in place for that and make that whole map basically "chat dead" cells.

well as a temporary fix does ctrl f11 or shift f11 work for you? it doesn't for me which is why i don't automatically assume it works for everyone else. if the chats are affecting in game performance you could use those commands or conversely just hit f11 to remove everything from your interface (f11 is the only thing that works for me).

is there a specific reason why anti-virus programs don't like shift/ctrl function commands?

Or the cm/gm's could just tell everyone to use their chat bs somewhere else. Why should players have to suffer because other players can't just move on! What's wrong with pront for the chats? or somewhere that isn't the main part of questing that a major percentage goes to...

it's specifically because it's a central hub that is readily accessible for all that makes it such a popular spot to put up chats. if you needed to set up a chat and wanted maximum exposure, you would and should put it there as well.
