First!
Mostly Mechanic-related things. Long post incoming !! XD
- Would it be possible to request an ETA on the following and the update(s) through which they are obtained:
Oda says: No idea.
- Would it be possible to request a fix for the head sprite misalignment on Mechanics' walking animation in the 11, 12 and 1 o'clock directions? The head remains static when it should conform to the body, as evidenced by the following:
Oda says: We can request that.
- Would it be possible to request a fix for the Mechanic skill Cooldown? On kRO it both lowers the invisible heat counter and removes the overheat status ailment, but on here it merely lowers the heat counter without removing the ailment. Overheat also does not time out correctly, which makes waiting for it to expire impractical. In mobby PvM situations it is a death sentence, whereas on kRO it is a workable inconvenience.
Oda says: kRO don't give us updates outside of the official timeline unless they're critical to game balance or their prerequisites have been filled.
- Would it be possible to request a fix for the Mechanic skill Hover, or otherwise confirm the intended functionality of it? Hover is supposed to (afaik) avoid all forms of traps and ground-targeted AoE magic, though it currently does not avoid Ranger traps and the vast majority of AoE magic. It does avoid Extreme Vaccum though, which is a start!
Oda says: kRO don't give us updates outside of the official timeline unless they're critical to game balance or their prerequisites have been filled.
- Could we request the Magic Gear summon Cash Shop items that kRO has, implement a way for us to recreate our Magic Gears in the field, or otherwise allow Mechanics to keep their mounts upon death like every other class mount in the game? Having to expend both wings and time returning to the Mado NPC/hurrying back to where you were is excruciating sometimes, especially when you're in a party. I've been kicked from and treated badly in parties on account of this so many times, I think I've lost track.
Oda says: Nothing. Skipped this question.
- Would it be possible to request a fix for Bolt Ears, which are misaligned when both the player's body and head sprite are facing in the 3 o'clock direction? This occurs with all classes. Please see below for an example:
Oda says: We can probably fix this in-house.
- Quite a while ago I requested the Ignis Cap in one of the Tikis and the maintenance for that week. Spoilered image for reference. Source here. Have you heard back about this? It's a very cute headgear <3
Oda says: Nothing. Skipped this question.
- Would it be possible to request something like "High Performance" Magic Gear Fuel for the Cash Shop, which could be of a lower weight than the NPC-purchasable fuel and have greater effectiveness when consumed by skills?
Active Mechs consume hundreds of units of fuel every few minutes, and therefore must carry quite a lot at any one time. At 3 weight per unit that's a significant amount of, and usually a majority of your total weight cap. You can carry about 2600 fuel in your cart should nothing else be in there, which is theoretically enough for whatever you might be doing, but practically you have far less space and carry far less fuel due to cannon balls, liquid balls, Mado parts, repair vials, elemental points and whatnot. Expending 30-50 fuel per minute through acceleration, barrier, the launchers, slides, hover and arm cannon, depending on timer expiry, is about the average for a Mechanic in PvM. Multiply that by 1.5 for GvG due to the role of the class and expensive buff maintenance, constant deaths and rebuffs (Mech AoEs can be killed very easily by Ganbantein and Earth Drive), launcher spam under strings, etc. That equates to 900-1500 fuel per 30 minutes in PvM, and 1350-2250 per 30 minutes in WoE. Some Mech players would argue less but a lot of them just alt the class for SD and don't play them as mains. You can understand the need for a more efficient type of fuel!
Oda says: Nothing. Skipped this question.
- Would it be possible to implement an NPC that takes old KvM armours, garments and shoes (not weapons or rings, though they might be considered if the NPC was to exist) and returns your badges at a 1/2 or even 1/4 rate?
The usefulness of these gears has depreciated severely since they were first added, and the alternatives, such as the WoE set, are more effective, slotted for versatility, cheaper (OPB conversion and/or time to farm=cost) and more plentiful. The mass-production and popularized tiers serve absolutely no purpose compared to these alternatives, and the regular glorious tier is effective only in PvM, such as making use of the Glorious Suit's MHP +20% bonus to stack with other gears (thought Tao Gunka defeats this and Tao is currently VERY common), or to receive moderate demihuman reductions in places like Biolabs and Rachel Sanctuary. All forms of Glorious gear are account bound and thus cannot be sold or traded, so for many players they will forever remain in storage collecting dust unless taken out for those VERY specialised applications. As they cannot be sold, and aside from the weapons and rings are rarely ever used, they represent a permanent time/zeny sink which is frankly depressing. At least, if the badges could be re-purposed elsewhere and not returned to the market as pure zeny it would not affect the economy or OPB price variation, and no player, old or new would be worse off for it.
Oda says: Sounds interesting!
- I'm also very interested to know why Magic Gears have an unimplemented set of death sprites.
Oda says: Nothing. Skipped this question.
