Since there are people who are opposed to the Bounty Boards system as designed, then how about making an alternative leveling system that's better than Eden Group, Gramps TIs, AND Bounty Boards?

What do you guys want out of an actual community-designed leveling quest system?

From what I can tell, here are the demands:

- 100% EXP from monster kills.
- Better way to get EMBs than picking 4 monsters from a list.
- Warping for quicker quest-taking and turn-ins. (Or placed on the field maps for quicker access and convenience.)
- Option to turn in items for EXP (since they don't want to do that for Bounty Boards). Use uncommon/unusual items for turn ins.
- Option to choose to kill 150 of a monster or 300. (Increased spawns for this.)
- Kill quests/collection quests that would be possible for non-combative classes (i.e. full support Priests, vendor Merchants, etc.).
- 500x the EXP for the hardest of the Bio3 mobs.

I will not be your voice. I will not be your middle-man. Lay your cards here and let the CMs know what you want.

===Suggested Concepts===

Project Revamp Current Quests
Proposed by: Facekiller, NoxiousOrchid, Necrohealiac, and Talvis

Updating rewards for kRO-designed quests to fit in with Renewal standards and make them more worthwhile for players to do. Need to see if kRO quests can be modified without kRO approval.

----------------------------------------------

Weekly Map Spotlights
Proposed by: meli

One popular map chosen by the community gets double spawn and mobs get double exp. No turn in, only grinding exp. One week can cater to high end maps and monsters, another week for low levels. Or there can be voting per Low-Mid-High level and choose one map for each. There would be a pinned thread for the community to vote, and they'd be free to select one map. Votes would be categorized by Low-Mid-High level map (having in mind same level ranges gramps turn in). So for example you could vote low level map (juno field whatever), mid level map (abyss lake whatever), high level map (bifrost map whatever).

----------------------------------------------

Job Class-Specific Quests (name pending)
Proposed by: ShinobiEX3

Each job class will have their own set of leveling quests catered to their job class (i.e. undead missions for Priest classes, kill missions for Assassin classes, item collection missions for Rogue classes, etc.). This would help teach players how to use their characters more effectively and develop better skill usage for their job classes. Could integrate job class lore into it.

----------------------------------------------

Cirrus Delivery Service (revival of original repeatable EXP quests)
Proposed by: Tamago

Players would apply for delivery service work from an NPC in Alberta. Once employed, players will travel to various NPCs located throughout the world to take on jobs that would require both kill counts and item collections. NPCs would reward EXP and money ONLY if players complete BOTH the kill counts and the item collections DURING the quest (items collected beforehand would not count). Quests may vary from delivering kill counts and items from one NPC to another on the same map or turned in to the same NPC on the same map. Would include jobs that take place in Nightmare Dungeons.

----------------------------------------------

Alchemist League
Proposed by: ZeroTigress

Alchemist classes would take on homunculus quests in which EXP would be awarded straight to the homunculi themselves. Would allow alchemist classes to level more efficiently and actively without saturating particular dungeons from other players. Need to see if it's possible to create quests that reward EXP to homunculi.

Confirmed it can't be done.

Not a lot of people will follow through with this, just focus on your BB system, it works great and will get even better with time.

i think the bounty boards are perfect, its a bit imbalanced that some of them have like 8 monsters on the list though .

however i would like to see perhaps some unusual items put to use to turn them in for exp . like broken pharaoh emblem and other normally useless mvp drops and the like.

this could create a new market for the normally unused items.

We need more leveling systems and the Bounty Boards will not be enough.

Also, I said I won't be the voice of the community on this so I'm not organizing this. I'll track all the suggestions, but that's it. You guys need to shout to the CMs what you want.

What 90% of the community wants, but probably isn't on the forum to say...or is and won't say it because they are ashamed of it:

  • Gramps to give 500x the EXP he gives for the hardest of the Bio3 mobs.

What I want:

  • Doesn't matter, will level somewhere, somehow, eventually.

I don't think anyone's opposing to the bounty board system, only want to tweak it with some of the options you listed (up to the GM)... which would be easier than creating a whole new project. Idk.

We need more leveling options other than the Bounty Boards. And this will be a community effort; no single person will be in charge of this.

No, we don't need more leveling systems. Over saturation of different systems will cause even worse issues than what iRO already has. Basically everything listed so far is minor edits to already existing systems and already has been voiced out the the CMs. But the original proposer of the system is against anyone touching it.

People want a community project and that's what they're getting.

Anyways, if no one's opposed to what the quest NPCs will look like, we can base this off the original repeatable EXP quests from pre-Renewal and make them field NPCs that you can go straight to the maps to collect and turn in right there. Unless someone has a better idea for this project.

Why not weekly spotlighted single maps. One popular map chosen by the community gets double spawn and mobs get double exp. No turn in, only grinding exp.

...too much work for the gm I guess!

What people?  The small vocal percentage of people that want to cry and moan when a system - even one as great as yours - doesn't live up to their "perfect" expectations?

There's nothing wrong with the BBs.   There's nothing wrong with Gramps.   There's A LOT wrong with the attitudes of the players.

And you're going to leave it up to these players to make a system of their own?  Hope you and all the CMs and GMs are ready for the DISASTER that will result.

The Bounty Boards cannot support everyone if the CMs get rid of Gramps. And the Bounty Boards are not convenient enough so reviving the repeatable EXP quests would be better. Players would have more quests to pick from than Eden and Bounty Boards.

Then they should'nt make a rectal-cranial decision like getting rid of Gramps?

We have quests in the form of Turn Ins and Bounty Boards, this is one major way of leveling.

We have grinding, as we always have; this is the second major way of leveling.

We also have prize medals, for those who are lazy, rich and really just don't wanna put in the effort.

Outside of increasing every map to a mass experience boost, I don't see what the hell people expect this to achieve?

I suppose if people want to be really lazy, we may as well just give them a bloody portable communicator so that they can just hand in stuff on the go? why not.

I think it would be better to have something solid in place than something that would change regularly. How would that list be organized?

But people like Gramps TIs.

EXACTLY!   And the Bounty Boards would be enough if they were placed in EVERY town and tweaked a bit.

But what about those who don't like having to go back to town? This could be a way for those who want to take quests and turn in all on the same field map.

Unless the proposed system used the exact same quest logs as the bounty boards (making the entire thing pointless) then you are going to cause a over saturation of turn ins. Stack up them bounty boards, gramps, eden boards and whatever quest logs this proposed thing would use and boom, you got yourself a broken game.

Dunno, but every MMO I've ever played where you had "monster quests" made you go back to town to turn in the quest.

Yeah, its a bit inconvenient but jeebus H, does the community need its hand held that much where a little inconvenience is overwhelming the sheer ability to level faster?

Why make another project when you still have to add more stuff, tweak and refine the old one? Besides, pretty sure everyone's happy with the status of the boards so far, minus a few things.
