Daaaaaaaaaaang, you guys, I kinda died here a bit, huh?
Well... I died everywhere on the net, to be frank. Been a lot lately: university, games, art block, that terrible kind of laziness when even breathing seems like a chore to you (you guys ever get those? I very rarely do and they suck rrrreally bad.), these stuff. But hopefully those, eh... months are over.
My god, I'm so sorry about that. This was partially my fault, I have to admit.
But in the meantime I was also able to think about the future of Showdown and came to an idea: maybe I could make my life just a bit easier if I switched to black-and-white format?
Since then I've been making preparations for test runs, one of them turned out as a four-page-long minicomic which I will upload here as well. Mainly I want to see if I can make a good enough lineart, if my panels aren't empty and lifeless, and just... generally an enjoyable picture to look at.
But in order to make the final decision, I'm gonna need your help as well! I humbly ask for you HONEST opinion about the pages and just the whole idea! It would help me a great deal.
This comic is titled "Check your damn targets!!". It is the redo of a scene from the game Mass Effect 2: , only with characters from Showdown. Why Mass Effect? Well, mainly because back when I was planning, I'd been really into the game, and realized the only way I could force myself to draw seriously again (I HATE laziness, especially my own...) is if I drew Mass Effect... partially at least. But this comic has nothing to do with the actual Showdown storyline. It isn't an AU, nothing like that. Just some goofing around, to test my abilities.
Okay, guys, hit me with it! Anything that comes in mind! Panels, the lineart, the text, the effects, I want to hear it all!
Thank you so much for your help!
P.S.: Oh yeah, one final comment: there WILL be some mild swearing in this. I followed the exact lines of the game right up until the end, and since Mass Effect is a game about soldiers in general, you can kinda expect them to swear at least some.
