Yeap. i totally miss the days when everyone played swords, bows and katars, cause the varied gameplay was 'so awesome'. /sarcasm. I miss the high activity, not the old system. There's a difference and lumping the two together is just nonsense.

Careful, Glowii. You can get banned for apocalypse posts. Is ROSE really that bad? I haven't been on for months...maybe years? I've lost track of time.

Edit: wow, I don't think i even need to log into the game. just looking at the forums. Where's all the regulars? It's so quiet...

I feel that a server merge should be first on the list, then release more content

Your post was removed from the Q & A topic because the question of the server merge was already answered... specifically here

Q: When will the server merge happen?

A: We do not have a scheduled date or estimate we can provide. The reason for this is because we are still working out the logistics ourselves. When we are able to know, in full, how the process of the server merge is going to involve, we will make an announce to the community the timeline of the server merge.

Facts about the server merge.

  • There is no date scheduled, yet.
  • We will announce to the community in advance, when it is planned to happen.
  • I personally want to give at minimum 30 days (1 month) notice to the community to be ready for it.
  • No server name has been chosen for the new server.
  • Neither Leonis or Draconis will be used as the new server name.

Q: Will there be any zulie cap or anything done to items or zulie amounts from the server merge?
A: Since we're still working on the logistics of the server merge, I can't answer this with complete accuracy. While we understand the concern of the two economies coming together, we're not currently looking at limiting any items or zulie.

That topic is being kept clean intentionally, as stated in the instructions in Leo's first post and only questions on new subjects are left visible until Leo adds the question and answer to the first post. Then those are also removed.

That quote also answers the question from the starter of this topic. When they have worked out the details of the server merge, the information will be announced to the community. There is no date as to when that will happen so for now we all have to be patient.

@AlisaMT Don't judge the game activity by the forum activity. Not everyone is comfortable posting at a forum, especially one as large as this one. Log in and hang around for awhile instead. Lately I've been seeing a lot of returning players as well as new people who have never tried Rose before. The time of day is sometimes a factor as well as times of the year when people have exams etc. It's always been this way with games.

There are many new players coming, i got 9 new players on my friends list in the past month but all of them either is inactive or quit before they even reached lvl 160 and almost all of them had the same point with their reason.... no party and almost no one buffs them.

I say we focus the new contents for the newbies.. maybe an NPC buffer in each map or whole map exp distribution.. i dunno, i just know that we should help the newbies/lowbies first.

yeah cause its so different now right? almost everyone still play hawker and soldier class mostly

The population is low year all but instead of just admitting thats how the game is, people always try to give a reason " its the holiday time", "its summer", "players are busy with classes", etc

Just because you don't agree or like what is being given as logical deductions, doesn't mean they don't possess potential to be true.

Regarding npc buffers for newbies, sounds like something they are already considering based on Leo's reply to this topic http://forums.warppo...bie-npc-buffer/  and I think that will definitely help.

I'm always meeting new or returning players in-game. Most of the ones that i've gotten to know pretty well are still playing. I always encourage them to make their own cleric and buff them, reinforce stuff for them, etc. More than anything, I think it's important to have someone to talk to and to ask when they have questions. That's something we can all do. I've made some good friends that I never would have met if I had not gotten involved.

The older system was way better, way more balanced. Now Dual raiders are by far the most overpowered class, a few skills is all it takes to kill anyone. Don't get me wrong you can have a pretty good katar or any other class but you really don't stand a chance. And it was way funner

So your complaint is survavbility and dual raiders being too strong.

Hate to break it to you, but after this new gear update, Duals are getting significantly stronger in the damage department while the soldier class in general is getting a huge nerf stick taken to them, thats just off gear, not counting their planned 'skill balancing' which I have 0 details on, but the incessant flaming of Champions [Particularly Axes] and the endless raging about Scouts [Bow] not being able to tank, will probably result in a huge flip-flop of the 'popular classes'. Katar Raider are also going to get a huge buff, since now instead of 30% aspeed, Glorious is going to give them 300 mspeed and 25% additional dodge on top of it's current dodge/accu. So goodluck ever hitting one.

Yea we do, sadly, no one has the initiative to suck it up and do what's right.

-Buy 1 premium if you can/when you can. It's a kick ass deal no matter what type of player you are, and is the BEST way to support the game. Not only that, it's incredibly affordable.

-Supporting ROSE in turn increases development funds, and enables more staff to be brought on to develop those features we all want

 - like mail boxes

 - clan wars

 - the new professions

 - new planets, dungeons and pvp modes

 - most wanted: server merge

Also

-Stop encouraging leeching, and botting. Laziness is the crippling problem of this games mechanics, it's being shoved down the dev's throats to make everything hand fed and easy to obtain. stop it.

-Limit number of clients to encourage party's [causes complaints but you know what it IS a problem, and there are solutions for every single 'complaint' that can be made about this.

-Offline vending / Auction House

The list could go on. My biggest point is the community itself is lazy and ungrateful most of the time [not all, but its very obvious]

It's a free game, that doesn't make the staff monsters for needing food, a place to live and enough money to keep the servers running. And that doesn't mean you shouldn't support it. It's free to play, not free to make/host.

Look, the fact is, the server(s) does not have enough people and needs new players. I'm new myself somewhat as I haven't played this game since beta all those years ago then the game went P2P and that was it, I quit. I came back (or starting again, I have no idea what is going on) just because I heard this game is F2P now and Hawkers aren't as OP as hell like they used too, especially Scouts with that insanely long ranged stun. Finally, just to check things out.

Here's the thing... This game (and all warpportal games in general) severely lack advertising. I've honestly really never seen one of those ads for a warrpportal game across all the websites I go to on the internet, especially not ROSE online. I do see much worse games being advertised all the time though (while their ads are cute and attractive, I'll admit) and easily get hundreds if not thousands of players from them. I really have no idea what warrportal is doing with its budget but developement of anything whether a product or a game doesn't mean a thing if nothing knows about it, it needs marketing. Of course, that doens't mean the game doesn't need to be polished but relative to most F2P games on the market currently, ROSE is already pretty good minus some balance issues that should be looked into. The lack of events and of in-game community interaction makes the game very unattractive as well and ROSE has not changed in the slightest in the aspect that it is and always has been it seems HEAVILY dependent upon buffs like no other game. This isn't a bad thing, it's very unique and the buffs are very bright and pretty unlike any game I've seen but this makes it very difficult for new players who do not have access to them. As it stands, the current game enviroment is very hostile towards new players and this is obviously very unattractive to the point it turns them away or causes early quitting.

I'm also going to be honest, the warrportal forums are absolutely utterly terrible. It should have been a dedicated forum from the start for each game with more sections like a "certain" other rose forum and a greater sense of community like another rose I won't name for obvious reasons. The official rose online website itself is terrible, ugly, plus utterly obnoxious and is even inferior to what existed all those years ago. Sign up is generally a pain compared to other games, information is grossly outdated or outright missing on the guides, numerous other problems exist. It needs to be updated into something more sleek, modern, and user friendly. Maybe you can offer some incentive to get people to edit the wiki, fix up or make content for the website, or create things for the community like calculators or so forth by offering in game rewards like things from the item shop. This would result in no economic loss to warrportal and would be a general gain for everyone and make the game and community far more attractive for new players and even existing ones.

To sum things up, I strongly suggest working on steamlining + detailing everything from the website, the sign up process, creating an account, the forums, and then work harder on marketing advertising the game to get new players. After that, you can work on adding or polishing content but I also strongly believe that merging the two servers should take first priority.

Here's a good thing I will say though, the best part I've seen so far. It's truly tremendous that you can talk and make suggestions directly with the DEVs or that anyone listens at all and they are actually taken into consideration. How many games can claim that? Even more, this game does get updated far more regularly than many other F2Ps which some literally has not received an update in years but somehow still manage to go on sheerly due to its advertising constantly bringing in a new playerbase.

Despite its age, I do think this is a great game. It needs a lot of work and I'm surprised after all these years all seven planets, a supposedly core aspect of this game, have yet to be released but considering the unique things ROSE has that almost no other game does, it should go on. If nothing else, I'd like this game to go on long enough to finally complete all 7 planets so I can get some closure before moving on to the next warrportal game. Maybe you'll work on ROSE online II.

I like your review, thorough clean and precise. I'd encourage you to continue providing this type of feedback, as it gets taken seriously and into consideration significantly more then just trashy raging.

sorry to say but the game got boring. all that balancing takes too much time. we need new stuff/new planets. something so the players we have already some chars maxed wont get bored. rose became more a chatbox then a game. i saw many quiting cuz they got bored. i wish there will come more often new stuff like dungeons/pvp games and maybe new planets in the near future!
