I'm serious, Axe Champion [even in Pegasus] just SUCK for DG  >< UGH I didn't pay cash and billions on resets and restats and more cash on EVERY single Champion tome in-game just to find a good build for DG's to have it nerfed into an unplayable state. This sucks -.-

Hahaha this guy. I have played, leveled and Dungeoned every class + sub class including hybrids. Several times. In fact the one class I have the least experience with, is the one class that doesn't do damage, but instead focusses on healing [cleric] and even that I made a super high INT build to tank and heal actively. 

 

So, to answer your question, yes. To clarify my intention, I think ALL classes and sub-classes should have equal potential. And I refuse to accept any less. Sure, sub-classes can specialize, that's encouraged actually, but when you have an archetype that is under performing in all areas' then I get frustrated.

I used to think this way. It's what kept me from giving up on ROSE for years even on different servers with varying levels of resources, talent and commitment on the part of the devs, I realize now that, like capitalism, ROSE cannot be balanced in all ways for all classes all the time. Our life on ROSE is the sum of a remainder of an unbalanced equation inherent to the programming of the game. Your class is the eventuality of an anomaly, which, despite Leonis's sincerest efforts, He has been unable to eliminate from what is otherwise a harmony of mathematical precision. While it remains a burden assiduously avoided, it is not unexpected, and thus not beyond a measure of control. Which has led you, inexorably... here.

Which is why you don't operate in a capitalistic fashion. You move into a more social libertarian-ism. You provide equal resources across the board, and let the individual select where they want to be on that game board.

 

Balancing stats is time consuming, but it is not hard. It's just tedious and monotonous. 

Example

Maximum damage reduction per reduction action type: 80%

Formulate Dodge when facing  0 Accuracy goal to provide 80% maximum chance.

Formulate Defense Damage % when focused to all Defensive build options to maximum 80% reduction.

 

^ You take those, break them down into segmented options you optionally build into. Done.

 

You have to have a goal, and not let personal opinions sway into that. I would know, because as a REP, I was one of the very very few to actually provide statistical propositions based on mathematically sound suggestions. And of all those, each one that was adapted, was successful.

ROSE: A New Deal (Now with the new Karkia Expansion Pack!)

 

Those capping suggestions are good and obvious.

 

The skilltrees as they are now are mostly decent. We're also lucky to have effort-based resources like Valor/Honor skills, Valor/Honor gems etc. BUUUUT the devs will always have an agenda, despite much of the game not being their own original IP. (Quick hats-off to Leonis et al for Sikuku Ruins, Catacombs etc, love it, good work there, much appreciated)  The current focus is on keeping IM revenue up. Asshats like Paragon keep the server alive and that inclines the devs a certain way towards certain classes and strats. So, no, I don't see class balance happening anytime soon, simply because of human nature, because in LIFE there is no balance. The game doesn't operate in a vacuum, after all, just like Adam Smith discovered about his stupid invisible hand, thinking the economy is a closed system and equilibrium will result.

 

Waiting for !Dragonlark or another CM to come spin this so neither of us gets banned from phourumz.

They're not caps, they're statistical limitations, meaning between gear, passives and total build options available can't exceed that value. 

 

I don't see why this conversation would be able to be banned, it's a legitimate conversation, except for your being critical of the staff, that's actually a rule lol. Aside form that, the thread is my loss of love for this clas due to it being underwhelmingly weak for the content I enjoy playing. 

 

And the video is old, the first time I posted it I believe I linked his youtube channel but couldn't find the original posting.

I used to have a burning hatred for certain classes but looking back it was more a reaction to an imbalanced server where I was an undergeared, impoverished dealer riding his little cart and being one-shotted in UW. Drawing pity from maxed players.

Imbalance drives this reality, though. It's what physics is based on. It's what causes passion. Hate, love. The only reason I still play ROSE and doughtR is because of imbalance. I have a battlecleric that can go toe-to-toe with some champs because of that hatred. Some day I hope to have 0 entries on my KOS list and then I'll retire from Rose. So I guess a little imbalance is necessary for a little while. Keeps the heart pumping.

 

EDIT: I don't see this convo going anywhere fruitful so Imma go super-OT and ask you about that desolate landmines thread. Do you think they'll ever separate grenades from bombs and make bombs into actual BOMBS and/or landmines? I'm really curious about this, enough to keep an eye on this for the next 2 years.

No, imbalance is not the necessity, the simple necessity is that damage yield should be 5-15% higher capability that defense and heal combined, this provides stability, while the eventuality of all conflicts is the will end. I could go on and on about the truest forms of balance and purpose to MMORPG's, but let's not get that far into it, unless you actually want to. Then we can start a new thread, but be warned, it will be a massive initial post from me.
