I can't believe I'm the first one asking this. Will VIP be extended for those down days?
Bumping this question.

Will the servers still be geographically located in California, USA? Or are we talking something more long-distance here?
Still within California.

We might hear something about that soon.

At the very least any lost VIP days will be returned. Were currently planning on a more extended event for everyone as well.

Hey VmodCinnamon, when will the crew start getting overtime for taking the servers down and will we get to do woe's on sunday before shutdown? Because if we miss woe what is they prepared to do for the players?

I don't think there should be "compensation" to anyone aside from lost VIP time for this. It's something that must be done and cannot be avoided, so there's zero reason why they have to give players a"compensation" event. WOE may be skipped for a week but is it that huge a deal that they need to "compensate"? Relocating happens in businesses, so I feel like people just need to deal with it for the 3 days. Just my two cents.
EDIT: phone spelling and rephrasing.

This is bad news for me. I'm on NTT JP and still want the WP co-location servers to be hosted by NTT US.

This isn't very good news for sure if the servers have been moved to a different ISP from the ISP I'm on. I may not be able to get a direct route from my ISP to the IDC which WP gonna use anymore.
let wait and see...

Does anyone know the reason that Gravity is moving it's servers to a new location
If I remember correctly the last time they moved was for security and poor ISP performance
Is it the same reasons now or are they cost cutting
So if cost cutting we may have potential for worse server performance again and real bad game experience

If timely the server move will start in about 14 hours or so.
Updated first post with PHT times.

It is estimated up to 48 hours for the hardware to move to the new location, during the move access to WP games and websites will not be possible.
2 whole days...
Are they transporting them on merchant carts by any chance?

It takes time to remove the servers without damaging the data (unlike LevelUp Games), transporting them carefully without denting anything sensitive, and then settling the servers into their new home without missing any important ports. Last I checked, Nintendo hasn't gotten into the business of producing servers so it's not like Oda and company can just throw the servers around to be more efficient.
Also, depending on where they're moving the servers, there's possible traffic jams to consider.
Quit using logic and reasoning among the people are going to need cheese to go with their whine. No harm in transporting servers in a hurry and have them broken, misplaced parts or damaged data in the process, just so people can demand a huge compensation for the whole ordeal. They act like they can't find something with in the time frame to occupy their time.
