People who are bothered with this will always find their way doing it.

That is the thought that ruined this game.
People thinking that there will always be away of doing it, bots, cheating, hacking, and therefore it shouldnt matter.

Sure with that mentality that some people have we might as well give up and let everything be legal.....surely is a good way to think

I would compare greyworld to the removal of the sword bug. Gets rid of all that unnecessary stuff and allows for much more clean gameplay and less misclicks.

I've heard plenty of people say they have no idea why someone would want to use it. Most of them do not grasp game mechanics very well, and it's true that it won't really benefit those players. This is aesthetics vs functionality. The two kinds of players are usually pretty distinguishable.

The chaos thing is a joke/call out on someone who wants this illegal, when it would have prevented misclicks that made this person think they kept on getting chaosed.

But yeah, the game sure is playable without greyworld, but for those who desire to play the best of their abilities (in a completely clean way minus the hiding behind walls that everyone cares so much about), greyworld is quite attractive.

If someone needs or wants graymaps to perform at "the best of their abilities" then their abilities is below n00b level.

Its not really that "thought" that ruined this game. Its because of these people who actually did those exploit. Not just thinking about it. If I thought it shouldn't matter, I wouldn't have made any remark. Making generalized assumption =/= my stands.

From the post you quoted, I mentioned that "cosmetic" is to vague. Thus CM or GM didn't think(I think) thoroughly on how they should define "cosmetic" edits. Some of the players are just eager to look for exploit. And when its poorly written, they'll always try to find loophole.

Without further detail on matter from "officials", these type of debate will do nothing but cause drama. Like how it quickly turned into one. Hence why I mentioned on how poorly it was defined. When making rules on something important, its not a good idea to give a single example because not everyone is going to apply that correctly. Happens a lot in college when they see their first assignment. They'll understand it in their favor. Same goes to this. Unless there are firm understanding on what is allowed and what is not, there will always be people who think its okay. Even after establishing such detail, it would be REALLY hard to scan out who is editing map grf.

Or you could just stop being bad and learn to play the game the way it was made instead of changing it to suit your lesser abilities and for fill arbitrary conditions that you've made up. It's like playing solitaire and adding peeking into the rules.

"gaiz I was just trolling"

Basically, squirrel is being a jerk deliberately!

I have a condition that causes tremors and I misclick a lot because of it. That doesn't mean I don't know the difference between being Chaosed or not, but it does mean that my mouse is often moved out of the correct spot. I usually correct it very fast, but still. Stream doesn't show when I click. I know when. I do a thousand times better than he would in the same circumstances, I'm sure enough of that.

So I'll ask you once squirrel, drop it. If you're only going to post to troll/bully over a comment made once on stream over a year ago, that's pretty low.

Made up? I think you're forgetting something. I'm the expert here. What I am providing is true.

Also I'm pretty sure I remember very clearly seeing the misclick and then hearing "I keep getting chaosed". No tremors there.

GVGs are arbitrary made up rules, WoE is about a lot of things, such as terrain management and econ. Stealth and invisible chars are part of that. I'm so sorry you're locked into such a tiny part of the game that you think its OKAY to invalidate all others.

Not that you'd know all you do is use the items I make.

How can you "see the misclick" there's no visual cue? confirmation bias is real and you're just posting to stir up trouble. If you seriously have nothing to contribute without it being a veil for harassment, do everyone a favour. Leave.

legal until this is changed since this is the intended use of the edit in basically every forum its provided on or when recommended from another player

if you honestly dont like it put pressure on gravity to improve alt + d so people wont need to use greyworld in order to play the game at a reasonable frame rate

It feels in my honest opinion, that RO seems to be worser the more updated and spanking new parts your computer is and the better your internet is.

I remember playing RO on a 32mb ram computer. I took 5-20 minutes to load prontera sometimes especially laggy during the first christmas event. They had to make a /snow command for users like me with junk computers. LOL

I'm sorry, but in no competitive game do you see a bunch of cells which explicitly state which ones are walkable and which aren't, and no game ever allows you to bypass vision restrictions created by terrain. It's there for a reason. That familiarity with terrain is supposed to come with experience. If you want to misclick less, learn which cells aren't walkable. The terrain is a most integral part of the game, and just taking it off and playing the game on a checkerboard shouldn't be allowed.

wat. people have FPS issues with RO? I know hallucination has a bug which drops fps, but as far as I am aware, terrain does not affect fps at all. And even if it does, the effect will be very small. Is there something I'm missing here?

Also RO is over a decade old, unless there is a bug, pretty much every computer should be to handle it with good fps.

This.

I don't get why people can't play the damn game how it's supposed to be played. No rcx, no grf edits, no 3pps. "QoL" is such a pathetic excuse, if anything these tools just help you cover up your inexperience.

P.S. My comment isn't directed at any specific player.
