Not just a cute quest

A full on ROSE Mythology epic for those seeking both rare and uniquely memorizing visions from Aura and Hebarn themselves. The task will be no small feat but a challenge that will shake any visiting hero to the very core of their essence! What will you find hidden in yours?

The story begins in a book, that is only randomly obtained from the creatures of any of the planets... Some search their whole lives to obtain a copy of this knowledge...

( [1 / 250,000] drop off anything. This should be something fairly absurd to obtain but say in the life of getting to max level how many monsters do you kill?

[Using the online Compendium, i'm sure most know of, to take xp from monsters to approx. kills. I think it is fairly close and will show my initially absurd ratio above be put in perspective.]

So in total, ~130,794 mobs just to get to 220 alone. 250,000 doesn't seem so absurd now. More importantly at end game almost all dungeons are mass mob killing anyways, so this large number of mobs required to essentially acquire the book really isn't that bad. Plus farming people do and event farming and one really will not even need to be max for too long before finding it for themselves. I would prefer the book drop straight into someone's inventory like how Hiria's Tear works currently to avoid looting complications. I would have nothing, no in game items, or item mall items help or change the chances of this knowledge being obtained in any way. Only conviction of will from the Visitor determines when they see themselves as part of the larger struggle, and thus are privy to its knowledge.

I know that this seems a little anti-pvp in some aspects but time for a quick honesty cap, so is most of the game. Others have brought up some of its up sides in conversion and amount acquired in games however compared to the valor equivalent. Either way I personally do not know the pvp side of the game very well so I'll leave that side of it to those with the knowledge. I assume the amount of kills would be less in pvp situations so I see no reason why it could not also drop from pvp encounters. Even with people "fixing" pvp situations since the odds are so high and are already from anything anyways pvm is clearly the quickest way to achieve the sheer numbers required here in my opinion.

With such large odd figures here it begs the question of if someone is really really unlucky will they ever find the item? I think most that really play a character will easily see the item but none of the payoff will be game changing in pvm or pvp situations. The reward will be purely ascetic so it is easier to allow it to be more absurd in the acquisition. The one big daunting question left in my mind is do we allow it to be traded or not and I would personally like to lean towards no, requiring it to stay as sort of a thank you for really playing them game essentially. Plus with the odds we are talking about it seems plausible to assume that it will have a big enough effect on the economy that I would just like it to stay out of it.

The whole over-arching theme on this will be about a Visitor's inner self, so I really like the idea of it staying with the one character it is acquired with. Something really notable and memorable to those with true conviction or truly blessed with luck by Aura.

The Ancient Visitor

We don't know where Arua came from, nor how she came to be. We do know, however, that nothing existed before Arua. The Goddess of life, souls, and all existence created the universe as she saw fit… a calm and beautiful place where souls could dwell peacefully. The deep matters of the universe cradled the waves of life, on which all beings would sway soothingly. This perfect universe was called the Sea of Souls.

Aura always had a vision. A vision she wished to share with all of her creations. Only those that truly seek to be enlightened by her benevolent light will find it.

"The planets, as your lives, dear ones, are all yours. As am I. As are your souls."

These are the words of Arua that ring in everyone's hearts when they are born.

"To you, I give the Gods, to watch over you. Praise them well, for no love can ever match the one you will receive from them."

And thus, the Gods were created, to watch over all life that Arua had created among the seven planets. And Arua named the planets after each of the Gods and Goddesses that would look after them: Junon, Lunar, Eldeon, Orlo, Karkia, Skaaj, and Hebarn.

Each planet's inhabitants lived in happiness, idolizing their respective God or Goddess, and reveling in the pleasures that living under their protection and rule brought.

But all was not harmonious for long. The Dark God Hebarn disbanded from the other planets, and his plots to destroy Arua's universe began.

The true source of Hebarn's dark and sinister plot has always remained an illusion. His workings and power always a mystery even to Aura. His reasoning for spiting from the other planets and true design yet to be discovered.

Soon, the gossips about strange visitors started. The Visitors protect life, and make right from all that is wrong. They are divine beings; they seldom suffer from hunger or thirst, they do not need as much sleep as most other creatures, but they can hurt, they can love. And they can help.

That is why Arua created them, after all.

Entrusting them to be the channeling conduits through which they could uncover for themselves Aura's Vision and her Plight. The Visitors being divine beings can not only help, but sow the seeds of dissent. Which they choose is revealed in their inner truth that only they can understand, in time. As they journey through the Seven Episodes they begin to realize the true intent of their own creation.

This is what I give to whomever is reading this now. I suspect I am no longer with the Gods on their planes of dominion. That is inconsequential, you must now take up where I have left off. Take the true knowledge of our history and find out our deeper purpose in the struggle. For we know that is why we were created, there is no higher calling then the reason of our existence!

I have only one small thread of hope to go on. You have inherited my journey, go seek where we first came from. Perhaps you don't know this or the land may change but there is an island... Whose true name has been obscured in the endless Sea of Souls that surrounds it. In my time and the start of my own journey it is where I began. We simply know it as... Birth Island. Where we all begin our journey.

Birth Island has always been closely tied to Junon, perhaps inhabitants of the villages on Junon know more.... (Half of the page is torn out along with the rest of the pages from the book.)

You finally get a tip from Historian Jones, he says he vaguely remembers hearing about those who no longer roam in flesh and blood but mind and spirit have been said to know of a long forgotten island from where the ancient visitor's had come from.

Upon entering Nejeuve Village, you proceed to ask the ghosts about Birth Island. None except Lithia know anything about what you are asking them. Lithia on the other hand not only knows but is surprised to hear the name Birth Island, even she cannot remember when she heard it last but it is unmistakable.

"You must have been talking with some ancients to come upon that name! I only have a minuscule recollection of an ancient priest that was around Oblivion Temple in my time. I understand that times have changes and you get to Orlo much differently then how the ancients did. There use to be powerful hieroglyphs suspended above the ancient temple. Their true power was never understood by those that used them. I wasn't sure if the priest was crazy or telling me the truth but I know if you are looking for Birth Island, then the great temple is the only clue I have."

You proceed to the ancient temple. ( 7 minutes within a proximity of the temple and... ) An ancient visage of a priest appears.

Mobs are all lvl 230 on the island. After running all around the island you finally uncover a piece of (Aura/Hebarn)'s vision. Once all 5 are collected (one from each area of the island) you are enveloped in light/dark and lifted from the ground. Your appearance changes to a bright light, a true vision of Aura or a dark seeping evil, the true vision of Hebarn.

Yup a costume, one done on a skill with a cooldown of say an hour, lasts 7 minutes. I am thinking it can be expanded to more quests where you acquire more items and become a more true vision of the respective gods. Like a warship mount but decked out for Aura or Hebarn. I think it would be really cool if there were 7 items, one from each of the planets and once you have all 7 the cooldown of the skill is removed and you can be in the true vision or not as you feel fit. An Aura and Hebarn summon would be so cool, and if two from opposing fates are beside one another having the summons wrestle with one another would be amazing

I have seen the true vision! I know more of the struggle and my role to play in it!

When the creatures of the first planet Junon began to adore Arua, the God of Adventure (Junon himself) adored her as well. And Junon Planet began to receive more attention from Arua, than all the other planets. This was unprecedented amongst the Gods and Goddesses, who were all to be equal in Arua's eyes. But soon, it became quite clear… Arua's favoritism towards Junon was apparently due to her falling in love.

Junon has a more intricate role than understood to play in this...

Arua, who had created the universe from love, was finally receiving some back; from the God of Adventure, Junon, who fell madly in love with the Goddess of Life and Souls almost immediately after his own creation.

Hebarn, the God of Darkness and Secrets, became jealous of the divine affair instantly; and demanded that Junon's love cease, so that Arua may belong to all the lesser Gods and Goddesses equally. But Skaaj, the Goddess of Love, could not deny the veracity of the love's power; and she blessed Junon's and Arua's conjugation herself, making it official above all other matters in the universe.

The dominoes of the planet's allegiance became clear.

Hebarn was both furious and envious at these turn of events, for his own love for Lunar the Goddess of Magic had been ignored completely by Skaaj in the past. Skaaj never officiated anything because Lunar, in charge of the cold and icy second planet of Luna, never reciprocated the love to Hebarn.

It was after this that Hebarn became also known as the God of Jealousy and Envy. The Dark God soon exiled himself from the other deities, vowing revenge against Arua's love and distancing the planet Hebarn from the rest of the universe: "If there can be love only from light, let there be hatred bourne from the darkness."

The true nature of the gods is being revealed, how has this shaped our world, and how will we shape it going forward? I fear this is not the....
