Hi friends!!! I'm a RO-lover from Taiwan. Today I want to show that seeing the Ragnarok world with first person view and walk around is not a dream!!!

Here is my demo video:

First apology for commenting in chinese in the video. But I did put an English subtitle! =)

This is a small project that I made after my lab works and study (currently only 1 memeber => me haha), Which current allow user to enter RO's maps and walk around using HTC Vive. I also implement the teleporting funtion that was provided by TheStoneFox on Reddit (Thnaks!), and currently having 4 map models (2 unpolish). And lastly, a small minimap on the left controller.

Walking in the Ragnarok world for the first time really makes me cry and feel so much of nostalgia!

I'm currently contacting with gravity for copyright and making this project possible to be future develope with everyone's help!!!
If you are interested please subscribe my youtube or add my facebook for new update and even joining the team. =D

If you like it please share and like the video! subscribe for later update!! Thanks   :p_laugh:

Already been shared, actually. https://forums.warpp...93-3d-ragnarok/

Great to see you actually posting here. Do you have plans to do a demo of Geffen? I think that one would be pretty neat to see considering it's very layered.

Good luck with getting Gravity to develop RO: The VR Experience. The tech is still rather new and expensive so I doubt there'd be enough people buying VR gears at this time to play it.

Oh, I missed that haha.

I'm planning to remake as much RO as possible, so Geffen is definitely on the list!
of course VR is still very new tech, but It will be already to late to start developing if it gets more available to the public. And actually ppls here in Taiwan/ Japan and HK are willing to buy VR HMD if these kinds of game are available (with all the other VR dedcated games)
It's actually worth the price for all teh experience (not just games) I got from VR. =D

Welcome David! That video generated a ton of nostalgic memories and a crazy number of views for RO. Though only a couple of people in the US office have VR headsets, it's a very cool project. One question that one of the VR users had is if the project will mainly only work with VIVE (due to the controllers being needed) or if it would also work on something like a Gear VR.

I think Gravity would be mostly opposed to the idea considering how they'd have to adapt every mechanic and feature in RO to a VR interface (I doubt people would be happy just logging in to walk around and not do anything else). Would take a few years of work at least, which I'm not sure Gravity would be willing to do even if there is a market for it.

200k views in 12 days on a low sub channel shows there might be some market though, unless Gravity has any other super good ideas for the future, milking RO1 theme as much as possible is probly the best bet

Shove pumpkin sprites into their face? I doubt Gravity would add a taste feature.

What if the rebirth quest in a VR RO actually took away your memories? :U
