I logged on today after a few weeks of not playing due to final exams and...

...where did everyone go?

I mean, I logged on late in the night, but... there was only a single PvP room open and around 7 Co-Op rooms, 5 of which were locked, on Slate Hill (H) and had like 1/16 capacity so I can only assume something was going on there.

I understand Leonis left and the Steam reviews are mostly full of butthurt and people complaining that they can't play, seemingly without even trying to figure out why (and this is painting the game in a more negative light, not that there aren't flaws with it currently). But I just don't get how the population seemingly dropped off so suddenly following the end of OBT.

Well, actually, no, I kind of do. It seems like GNIsoft completely ignored our suggestions for what would make this game's cash shop more of a success than a cash grab. My personal ones were a sort of copy of DFO's model- permanent cosmetics that offer no meaningful statistical benefits and are rotated out every few months for new ones, with monthly package releases that offer rather decent skin gear but at increased prices. Following that, name tags for weapons, weapon skins, other forms of cosmetics (special effects, maybe crate unboxing a-la TF2, who wouldn't want a rifle with a cool ass fire or swirly effect on the end that only very few people get?)

Timed items could stay in, sure, but all we asked was the option for permanent gear, it didn't even have to give stat bonuses. Just the option to have it for as long as we wanted if we liked how it looked.

None of that came to light, not that I really expected it to, but it feels like if any word of what the players suggested even reached the devs it just got swept under the rug. Maybe I'm wrong, but that's what I'm seeing.

There's also like... zero advertising for this game going on. No one is talking about it, hell I mentioned it to my friend yesterday and he was like "It's back? I had no idea." I have no doubts that WP can keep this game around for a long time, back when I played Dragonica pre-WP it felt like a trainwreck, I played it a bit after and I felt it getting better. I see it now and at first glance, its still kicking.

RO is still kicking.

ROSE is still kicking.

MA could very well stick around for awhile too- but the lack of exposure isn't doing it any justice. Maybe this happens with RO, ROSE, and such, but games like those are fairly well known with anyone who's been playing online RPGs/MMOs from 2005 and on, so word of mouth has already gotten around for them. MA is kind of niche and obscure.

I'd really rather not see this game fail again- I'm not saying its going to and everyone should just drop what they're doing, its still too early to tell -I just don't want to see it bomb because people have no idea what it is other than those who played it when Aeria hosted it, or because some guy wrote a quick 0.1hrs negative review because he didn't like the controls. Bull-_- aside, its a really good game to kick back and chill on- which is extremely rare in this day and age. Its the kind of thing you could LAN party with friends on and have a blast for hours.

But you really need people to play it with, please get a bit more word out WP- give people some incentives to at least try the game for a few days.

Wall of text over, go about your day.

Game died almost overnight after the Euro server went up. The new mod "Tirfing" is quieter than Britney Spears' dietitian!

The only real source of information is from players who knew mod "Leonis" and from what I have heard there is a one year contact so expect the game to stay up until early next year.

Unfortunately, WP does not have a concrete marketing strategy and they only rely on 'viral' marketing using social network sites. If WP can't advertise their flagship game (RO1), how can you expect them to even advertise MA. :v

Its just the lack of support and feedback :/. A lot of veterans have quit but we still have some left including myself. Indeed MA is lonely and filled with brs now but Im still going to try and have faith on finding info on the next update. If nothing happens this week I will be on my way too.
