Exorcist Guide (including new gear)

Lamor set incoming damage reduction function is good and its got nice drop boost perks when wore as a set, but if you're seeking to pump your ME damage there are lots of better alternatives gears (shield, garment, shoes) out there. Acolyte cards set are good for cheap demon/undead races tanking purpose, but you sacrifice lots of equipment slots for the weapon, headgear, armor, shield and accessory slots in order for getting the set effect to work.

High refine crimson rod will be worth for your ME AB because nightmare mimic & big ben card combo + magician's gloves with shrine maiden hat will pretty much give great AoE damage over time for every demon / undead race monsters you encounter since pretty early you become an AB.

Even with the high refine rod alone its overkill for your priest / high priest class leveling (slain harpies, undeads & demons in GH churchyard, geffen dungeon 2nd&3rd floor, niffleheim, geffenia, etc)

The rod also useful for your mage classes characters if you play either warlock or sorc, and useful for your autocast suras and soul linker also its future class Soul Reaper if the future class got plenty of magic skills

But I couldn't deny how convenience getting double incoming demon/undead races damage reduction from Divine cross+spiritual ring combo. If only there's alternative affordable means of getting another 50% mdef pierce reduction on demons and undead outside of big ben & nightmare mimic combo.

My AB alt has been collecting dust for years and I finally decided to play a bit more around with it. I have mob scarf and bought 2 valk drops. what else should I aim for?

undead/demon resist (are there any good gears for this?)
neutral attack resist  (DR HBP + palace guard + immune shield)
cast reduce resist

or should I just go pure damage? (would it be over kill to stack too much?)

Any leveling video or updated gear set-up that doesn't involve overly expensive gears (e.g. flattery robes, mvp cards)?

Hi everyone, 

This guide and others have been super helpful getting off my feet. I am a little confused about using a Crimson Rod with both Nightmare Mimic/Big Ben as a "combo"...If I am understanding correctly, both of those cards get the 50% mdef pierce with two different shield cards, but do not work as a set together on their own. Do you recommend carrying two shields all the time or do you just pick one? Is the 5% magic damage on demon and undead really that good that you lose out on one of the shield set bonuses? Or is this more of an MVP thing where you go prepared with specific gear, rather than just general kill everything-style leveling?

I've been searching for an answer to this for a while now, and still come up short...a lot of threads and guides seem outdated and don't mention Valkyrie Drops. Is there something I'm missing here, or are these items as good as they look? At lvl 100, that's a 150% increase to ME damage...x2 if you wear two??? How are these items so relatively cheap? I guess a drawback is needing to max Imposito to get the other buffs, but that can be made up.

I'd do the calcs myself, but the irowiki stat calculator does not have valk drops or shrine maiden...What do you all think? Are valk drops better and the spiritual ring/clip/divine cross combo is just a good cheap option, or is the spiritual ring combo still better somehow?

Valkyrie Drop definitely better if you seek ME skill damage boost, you can wear two valk drops when facing low mdef monsters but for high mdef monsters you better off with wearing one valkyrie drops and one magician's gloves / perverse demon mask for mdef pierce purpose.

You don't need to invest on nightmare pyramid / nightmare clocktower combo cards anymore, if you already investing on 126 str status while wearing perverse demon mask. As replacement to the weapon cards you can use racial matk boost cards like ancient tree (+10% matk on undead race) or Hell apocalypse (+10% matk on demon race). For shields you can use size/race/elements/monsters protocol modifier damage reduction cards.

There's also Abyss Dress now which will boost your magic attack by 96% if your monster target are either (race-elements) demons-undead, demons-shadow, undead-shadow, undead-undead. Even If you only fulfill 1 of the condition, either it only match the race / elements it still boost your overall magic damage by 40% against them.

One last thing, please be informed that ME only works against all kind of demon race monsters regardless its element and all kind of race with undead element.

You lost me on the 126 str bonus with perverse demon mask...Strength?? 126??? 

Every 18 invested base str you gain 15% mdef pierce on everything and +3 INT status bonus.

To get exact 100% mdef pierce on everything you need to invest at least 126 base str (18 str x 7) which will net you 105% (15% x 7) mdef pierce.

That bonus is great and all but how the heck do you budget for 126 base str in an ME build? O_o

My budget Exorcist AB

Headgear : +7 Lush Rose (W. Fenrir Card) (Spell 3)

Mid HG : Moon eye patch (W. Fenrir Card)

Low HG: Love Piece

Weapon: +6 Dea Staff (Spell 4)

Armor : Anything depend on situation

Shoes : +4 Temporal Int Boots (spell 5) (RM)

Garment :Airship Cloak (Damage : Antique Book, Defensive : Raydric)

Acc : 2 Valk Drop each slotted with Scaraba Card

With this setup, I could solo instance like Jitterbug, become DPS on low ti, mid ti, or even hi ti, and clearing ET floor alone.

When RM proc, I could one hit every demon or undead monster. I wish to have flattery robe or mob for maximum fun.

I'm already have main ME AB for leveling to 175 (with this gear I think I can solo Nameless Island easily) 

 but  I want second AB with perma Lv.100 for  destroy every Demon , Undead mobs in Low TI

  + help every party that's lacks of healer / killer   or  help Lv.85+ friends leveling   so I shared all of my gears from my main

dmg is too overpowered .....

Hi, new ME priest in construction here, and i have some doubts, first i am no new to priest, they were my main char back when i played RO... but like 13 years ago, and never hit transcendence with one, besides i used mainly TU builds, so my experience is very limited, My priest is around 85 atm, now my doubts:

 I stick to the basic stats, int and dex as much as possible with some vit (around40base) and trying to max dex for faster cast. The problem is, i have the combination spirit ring+rosary+divine cross, all good except i got overloaded, even carrying minimal stuff like some blue herbs and blue stones, barely can fit 40 stones, so i had to put at least 20base strength.

 I also have a +4 holy robe, but i was switching between that and the Eden armor while leaving a evil druid hit me to compare damage and was barely the same, but again the weight of Eden armor is 0, should stick with that until i get High Priest and have more power and points to spend? I am already getting some equipment like shoes for post transcendent class and cards, but then again, that will require invest in strength to carry them.

 So as you see my main trouble is spending points in strength, how much should i spend? and other than gym pass is there a good card that can help with that? i have seen some that give 1 str for 18 of agi or int, cant remember, any advice is welcome, and thanks.

Hi Van,

you no longer need dex for ME casting once you hit 3rd class (archbishop) and aim for clean shrine maiden hat community headgears first as starter which granting 100% vct and fct reduction to ME, but you might need dex for other buff / skill purpose and triggering some equipment combo, such as temporal dex boots / mob scarf matk bonus for example in case you plan to went hybrid support/exorcist build.

then try upping your equipment by aiming for valkyrie drops.

after that you can choose whether getting abyss dress first or recent shoes of punishment first or mob scarf set

as for weight issues you can take advantage of rodex features for bluegem carrying, so you dont have to spent any strength point just to carry things.

so in case you're not yet familiar with rodex features,  you can sent messages with packages of blugem stone from your alts char to your priest ME, then let it stay there as your extended inventory.

claim it only when your bluegemstone is run-out, since every rodex message expiration is 15 days long or something like that as far I can remember.

Thanks for the advice, that rodex feature sound like a great way to keep items, is like the cart of my merchant, just left the items i need there and take it when i need it when i am in leveling mode.

I have another doubt, my priest have never been support oriented(i know it sound illogical) i used to have TU, Battle priest and now ME, but are oriented to Solo playing, i can eventually if join a guild, make another more oriented to support if needed, but this one is for solo playing and will spent his time solo, hunting undead monsters, so my doubt is, should aim for the Raydric card in the garment? or go with other that reduce the specific undead/demon damage?

I'll aim on both if I were you since both of them can be stacked to reduce your incoming damage from undead & demon, btw you can pm me your ign for free raydric card through rodex if you're playing in chaos renewal.

I think I got some of them unused in my kafra storage, so you can save your zeny for something else.

Somehow ,  with current meta gears   ME AB is too OP against specific mobs *

trying to maximize dmg with my Lv.100 ME AB  and I found that  this is too much overkill...... :<

I think  even No Mob Scarf and Abyss Dress     just need at least   +9 Maiden , 2x Valks , Holy Stick + Shoes of Punishment   

still can do  200k+ ME w/ low level AB against specific mobs   

(Since w/ Abyss Dress and Mob  + rest of mentioned gears can reach 500k  = =")

* Specific mobs =   Undead / Demon race    Undead / Shadow  element  combined   

they get full damage from Abyss Dress and get extra dmg from holy element

Can't imagine the extra P.Dodge actually helps too much but with 2 Valk Drops and Abyss you should way overkill anyway so Scaraba won't help either. Your defense in Mid TI is killing the mobs with your instant cast ME to 1 hit KO then tele/wing before AK uses Brandish or Strip heh. So do either card or leave uncarded for now since both are roughly the same.
