I wanted to make a guide that includes new gear as it seems Xellie hasn't been on in a while. Take note that this isn't an all inclusive list, though I will try to update when I find something new.
Because part of the guide is in smaller text, I will say this. Magnus Exorcismus only works on undead element and demon race. There is an undead race as well, so you will not be able to kill monsters such as Injustices.

Equippable by level 85+
(Outside of the Shrine Maiden Hat, this in my opinion is the best option)
I will add on to the leveling tactics/areas Xellie used. This is how I leveled my ArchBishop, starting from the beginning. (I don't remember exact levels I did, as this was back in 2010/2011, this is to the best of my memory)
Level 1-15 - Payon Cave 1
Just heal bomb the Zombies and Skeletons. Watch out for familiars as at that low level they will kill you.
Level 15-30 - Ant Hell
Take the strongest mace you can equip and just kill the eggs. There are a lot of alchemist classes there leveling their homunculi so it might be hard to find a spot, but the kills are quick enough the ant eggs spawn quickly enough most of the time. Watch out for familiars, though, at these levels they won't kill you as long as you invested a bit in Vit, but they will still hurt and are still somewhat hard to kill. Once you reach level 20 or so you can start killing the ants as well if you want, I didn't.
Level 30-35 - Orc Village
Yes, I leveled here. It's very mobby and can get expensive, especially as you need a Marine Sphere card for the use of Magnum Break level 3 (I personally put it in a belt since they're cheap, and you can buy them from most armor npcs). You need quite a bit of HP, and if you are mobbing like I did tons of potions, and possibly some HP Increase potions as well. I wouldn't recommend it for the faint of heart of those that don't have too much money. If there happens to be an experience event going on at the time, you can stay in ant hell until level 50 or so.
Level 35-75 - Orc Dungeon
This one is a bit harder now as there are so many geneticists leveling their homunculi here that it can be hard to find mobs, but if you manage to find it almost empty, it's basically the same as the orc village. Once you have sanctuary a high enough level you can do orc dungeon rather easily for faster leveling. There are Familiars and Drainlairs here, but those shouldn't pose much of a problem to you by this point.
Level 35-44 Alternate - Payon dungeon 2
This one is slower, but safer (could be faster depending on geneticists). Heal bomb the skeletons. There are Drainlairs here, but you should be able to take them out in a couple of hits. Make sure to take a mace to swap out if you're not doing enough damage with your main weapon. Eggyra are also here but they are passive. Don't try to kill these unless you have a high atk weapon, they are formless and won't take damage from heal.
Level 44-65 - Payon dungeon 3
First thing to note, there is a ninetails that spawns here, though 1 at a time. If you see it, teleport away immediately. They hit fast and hard, and will most likely kill you. There is also a spot where a @!#$ton of hydras spawn at, so try to stay away from that area, if you see any hydras, teleport away as they may be able to kill you. At this point you should be close to 2nd class, if not already. As a Priest/High Priest, I would recommend using Sanctuary until you get Magnus Exorcismus. They both cost a blue gem, and the area is relatively mobby. (I didn't do much leveling here except for partying with a friend once, not sure if I even got a level)
Level 65-85 - Glast Heim St. Abbey
Heal bomb Evil Druids and Wraiths. This is a ginormous map, so it's hard to gather a mob, but if you can, use magnus to take them out. You shouldn't need potions here since there aren't many mobs. There are mimics here so watch out for them. They don't hurt much but they hit fast, and are hard to hit. Just teleport away. There is a Wraith Dead that spawns here as well, but I've only ever seen it once so you probably don't have to worry about it, it's supposedly level 121 but I was around level 70 at the time and he fell in one wave of magnus.
Level 85-99 - Glast Heim Churchyard
You will probably need to use magnus a lot here, it's a smaller map so there are more mobs. Heal bomb monsters when you only have 1-3 on you. If you can get a Bathory carded armor that will help here. Watch out for the hunter flies and mimics. They don't hurt much by this point but are difficult to kill solo. Just teleport away. Another note, the Dark Lord MVP spawns here so you will want to watch out for him, as well as a Dark Illusion that spawns I believe once every hour. You probably won't be able to kill him either. (As a side note, as a level 9x Priest I was able to solo the Dark Lord. Did it several times again as a High Priest. Do not try this at home) I try to keep the Dark Lord dead so others don't have to worry about him (pm Princess Destiny, Destiny Talim, or Alchemic Destiny if you are leveling here and see it, I tend to be on one of these characters when game is not in maintenence, but I can't be on 24/7, even if I'm logged in. If I am on and not in the endless tower, I will try to make it there to kill him. All those names have spaces)
Level 99-105 - Niffleheim 1
You can go here earlier but Glast Heim is a bit safer as it is less mobby (or bigger, not sure which). Just use Magnus Exorcismus on the mobs, they are all undead or demon here (even the trees)
Level 105 - - Nameless Island
I am still leveling here but I will update this when it stops being enough experience to matter. I am currently level 147 and still going here. With the equipment I have I one shot everything but the MVPs, Necromancers, and Banshees (only about 2k damage away from one shotting Banshees).
Or you could just do the boring turn ins once you hit level 70.
These next items aren't 100% necessary but you're not going to run around naked are you?
Spoiler {Armor}
Geffen Magic Robe [1] (Price on Ragial: 100m unupgraded, 250m +7, 400m +9)
Reduces SP cost of skills by 10%
Increases variable cast time of skills by 15% while preventing skill casting from being interrupted
When upgraded to +7 or higher, reduces SP cost of skills by an additional 10%
When upgraded to +9 or higher, reduces variable cast time of skills by 5% (I don't know if that means just 10% increase in cast or if that's negated and cast is reduced. Can someone confirm that for me?)
Equippable by third class only
This has set bonuses but we aren't worried about those.
Orleans Gown [1] (Price on Ragial: 6.5m)
Increases the variable cast time of skills by 15% while preventing skill casting from being interrupted.
Equippable by transcendent classes level 55+
Short of the Geffen Robe, this in my opinion is the best armor you can get. Only downside is insanely low def.
Holy Robe (slotted or unslotted) (Price on Ragial slotted: 65m/unslotted: 700k)
Reduces damage from Demon race by 15%
Reduces damage from Shadow element attacks by 10%
Mdef +5
Equippable by level 60+, acolyte class only
Puente Robe [1] (Price on Ragial: 330k)
Reduces fixed cast time of skills by 3% (this effect won't stack with other cast reduction effects)
Increases power of healing skills by 5%
Equippable by level 22+
This is worse than the Orleans's Gown but the def is almost triple.
Diabolus Robe [1] (Price on Ragial: 120m)
Reduces the skill usage delay by 10%.
Increases the recovery power of the user's healing skills 6%
Mdef +5
Max SP +150
Equippable by level 60+, transcendent acolyte, mage, and archer classes only
This has a set bonus but we aren't worried about that.
Spoiler {Shoes}
Temporal Boots (Int, Vit, or Dex)
(With these it's better to buy the crystals and spells and make your own as it's cheaper in the long run. Temporal Crystals are running about 500k on ragial now. Coagulated spells are about 800k now.)
Use whichever you need for the situation (I personally didn't notice much of a difference in cast time with 120 dex and dex boots than with 80 dex and Variant Shoes). I would recommend not getting the slotted versions, enchant them instead.
Max HP +300
Max SP +30
For every 3 upgrades (Dex: max HP +300, max SP +10, Dex +3/Vit: max HP +300, max SP +10/Int: max HP +100, max SP +10, Matk +10)
Dex: When base Dex is 120 or higher, increases ranged damage by 5% and reduces fixed cast of skills by .5 seconds
Vit: When base Vit is 120 or higher, increases max HP by 8%
Int: When base Int is 120 or higher, adds Matk +60
Equippable by third class only
Variant Shoes (Price on Ragial: 2.5m)
Adds 20% max HP and SP
Each refine decreases those bonuses by 1%, but every 2 upgrades adds 1 def (don't do this, the def on these is pathetic)
Equippable by transcendent classes level 85+
In my opinion the best or second best option (I still use these).
These boots can be refined without losing those bonuses, but def increase is the same (I would recommend upgrading these as you can only gain from it)
Equippable by level 85+
Vital Tree Shoes (Price on Ragial: 1.6m)
Mdef +3
Vit +2
Max HP +10%
HP recovery rate increased by 5%
Restores 30 HP every 10 seconds
Increases recovery of skills and items by 5%
Equippable by transcendent classes level 60+
Vidar's Boots (Price on Ragial: 110k)
Adds 9% max HP and SP
Equippable by level 65+
This has a set bonus but it's not that great.
Sleipnir (tradeable only through GMs, not sure what they run for)
Yes this is a god item but it's still good. I'd like to have these for the increase in move speed and Matk from the Int bonus. The tradeable version isn't as good.
Increases movement speed
Mdef +10
Int +25 (I've heard 40 but I can't find where it says that)
Adds 20% max HP and SP
Increases SP recovery rate by 25%
Equippable by level 94+
Diabolus Boots [1] (Price on Ragial: 20m)
Increases max HP by 10 for every base level
Equippable by transcendent classes level 55+
Boots of Gray [1] (Price on Ragial: 8m unupgraded, 7m +7)
Reduces damage from Holy element attacks by 2%
Reduces damage from Holy element attacks by an additional 1% for every 3 refine levels
Equippable by level 120+
Bangungot Boots (Bayani) [1] (Price on Ragial: 150m)
Increases Mdef per refine rather than Def
Increases movement speed when upgraded to +12 or higher
Spoiler {Garments}
Fallen Angel Wing [1] (Price on Ragial: very varied, changes a lot. 620m for +9 right now)
For every 20 base STR, ATK +1
For every 20 base AGI, Aspd +1%
For every 20 base VIT, reduces damage received from [Neutral] element attacks by 1%
For every 20 base INT, MATK +1
For every 20 base DEX, Ranged Attack Damage +1%
For every 20 base LUK, Critical Attack damage +1%
Mdef +18 per refine level
Luk +2
This is probably the best garment this game has ever seen. Can be enchanted a number of ways, but I would recommend upgrading to +9 before you enchant it.
Airship's Cloak (account bound)
Reduces variable cast time by 20%
Reduces damage from neutral element by 10%
Flee +20
Equippable by level 125+
This has a set bonus but we aren't interested in that.
Giant Faceworm Snake Skin (Slotted or unslotted)
(Price on Ragial: varies more wildly than the Fallen Angel Wing due to random enchants and upgrades when it drops)
Mdef +10
Increases Max HP by 15% and Max SP by 5% when equipped with Temporal Boots
If Base Vit >= 90: Reduces damage received from [Neutral] element attacks by 5%
If Base Agi >= 90: Aspd +8%
If Base Dex >= 90: Ranged Attack +5%
If Base Luk >= 90: Critical Damage +10%
If refined to +9 or higher:
If Base Str >= 90: Adds an additional Attack +10
If Base Int >= 90: Adds an additional Magic Attack +20
If Base Vit >= 90: Reduces damage received from [Neutral] element attacks by an additional 5%
If Base Agi >= 90: Adds an additional Aspd +1
If Base Dex >= 90: Adds an additional Ranged Attack +5%
If Base Luk >= 90: Adds an additional Critical Damage +5%
This is one of the best garments in the game (even if I don't like them)
Nydhoggur's Shadow Garb [1] (yes I know that's not how it's spelled but it looks cooler that way)
(Price on Ragial: 20m unupgraded, 220m +9)
Reduces damage received from all elements by 7%
Increases the user's Max SP by (Base Level / 3) + (Upgrade * 10)
Adds a 1% chance to restore 1% of the damage dealt as SP to the user with each physical attack
Equippable by transcendent classes level 90+
One of the best garments in the game, it's rather underrated now.
Shawl of Judgement (Price on Ragial: 1.5m)
Adds a chance of casting [Oratio] Lv 2 while being physically or magically attacked. If a higher level of this skill is learned then that level will activate
Flee +5
Equippable by level 100+, ArchBishop only
Has a set bonus.
Valkyrian Manteau [1] (Price on Ragial: 300k unupgraded, 11m +7, 100m +9)
If used by a Swordman, Merchant or Thief job type:
Reflects 5% of the received melee damage back at the attacker
Each upgrade increases the amount reflected back by 2%, til an upgrade of +10
If used by a Acolyte, Mage or Archer job type:
P. Dodge +5
Each upgrade gives an additional P. Dodge +2, til an upgrade of +10
Equippable by transcendent classes
Has a set bonus.
Cloak of Gray [1] (Price on Ragial: 8m)
Reduces damage received from [Holy] element by 5%
Increases [Holy] element resistance by an additional 1% per 2 refine levels
Equippable by level 125+
For the Gray items, those may help with soloing the Fallen Bishop MVP. I don't want to try it until I'm a bit higher in level, but can anyone try it out and see if it works? I know it's possible, I just don't know what combo of gear to use (without High Wizard card). For the prices I listed next to the items, those will probably end up changing, but that's the latest I saw. Also not all of these items were selling at the moment I looked at it so I put the most recent relevant price.
I would if I knew about them. I use what you get from the golden thief bug looking monsters. Though I did hear about one that allows you to ignore the mdef of demon monsters. Would be nice to have an undead one as well.
both brit guild dungeon and nightmare GH is viable. dark priest stop giving exp at 171, while dark frame still giving exp until 175. wanderer still give exp until 175. while greenwood dungeon will stop giving exp at 171 (am mut).
I used Lex Aeterna and a Mystical Amplification scroll against a Necromancer in Nameless Island Cursed Monastery. Maybe it's not what a Ranger, Guillotine Cross, or even a Warlock can get, but it's a start.
Used Lex only on a Dark Priest in Glast Heim St. Abbey.
That's why I don't know about it. I'm only level 147 at the moment. Probably won't change from the Geffen Robe though I may give that a try to see how it works out.
Hero judgement is OP man... Im 136 now, is there is alternative spot outside nameless island? Because quest is too long, how about dimensional gorge, how to access it?
My me currently is 40k without lex
+7 shrine maiden (weaken fenrir)
Orleans with rybio card
+7 DC
airship manteau (to insert element reduce) (got faw +9 spell too)
+4 int boots spell runaway
Spiritual ring
Rosary (scaraba card)
I would use the fallen angel wing instead, it does reduce neutral damage as well. Nameless Island is the best place for you to level outside of the turn ins. you could also try nightmare Glast Heim, the first one, but watch out for the upgraded mimics. I haven't done the second one yet, I'll try that out tomorrow (RO isn't working very well at the moment). I would also recommend another card for the armor, bathory or evil druid are some good options, and cheap. Those will minimize damage dealt to you, especially by the Banshees if you are trying Cursed Monastery 3. If you happen to have enough money, buy a Geffen Magic Robe (+9 if possible). It will save you a lot of SP, allowing you to keep going for a while if you end up overweight because of looting. I would recommend looting to supplement the blue gemstone cost. I haven't carded mine yet as it is expensive and a bit hard to get one of your own.
Edit: Some time tomorrow before my guild does ET, I will try to get into the ME-able instances and see how the experience is, and if it would be more worth it for lower characters (and potential potion cost). This is just me, but for healing items, I would recommend using a Flamel card and condensed white slims. I use ~renoulli's~ (not sure if that's how his name is spelled), since he's the number 1 on the server, and they heal 6-10 per potion while wearing Flamel garment. Without, they heal 2-3k.
one question is it safety wall and pneuma is stackable? Because when i was with party on amdarais im dead when i deploy both of them, but seems okay for me when i tank with only safetywall (with judgement armor)
No they aren't. Can't stack 2 safety walls or pneumas either. Nightmare glast heim is by the old glast heim entrance, an NPC called Hugin's Follower sends you there. There are 2 options, one costs 5k zeny the other costs 10k. I did the 5k one earlier today, but I am level 147 so I thought the experience was pathetic. The upgraded mimics will hurt you though, so unless you have judex or adoramus run when you see more than one of them, unless you are unable to one shot the other mobs, then run if you see any. I have yet to check out the second option. I will get to that tomorrow, and let you know how it goes.
I just checked out nightmare glast heim level 2. The experience each gives is good, but at your level you probably wouldn't be able to handle more than one upgraded wanderer at a time, possibly 2. Also, without judex or adoramus I'd say it's not even worth it. There are so many upgraded mimic spawns, and upgraded rideword here too. The ridewords don't hit too fast, but the mimics are insane. If you go, don't use potions unless you can't outheal the damage. If you have just one on you, you can throw down magnus then use lex. On one you shouldn't even need to heal, but it's best to keep your HP topped up. On 2 it starts getting harder but you might be able to outheal the damage. On 3, you will need to start using potions. I was only there for like 5 minutes but I gained about 1.5% experience or so. There are also upgraded evil druids there (Corrupted Priests). Those should only take 2 hits to kill, they have around 75k hp. The wanderers have about 200k, and have mdef about on par with the dark lord mvp. I have about 23k HP using temporal int boots, variants give me about 28km but lower def.
wanderers have 130k HP, wind 1 elemental, and 16 mdef. glad those mobs dont use skills, only autoattack. so they are more managable (even tho wanderers hurt)
What do you think about using Acolyte Card Set, with Lamor Set for ME build? But the thing is I'll need replacement for Divine Cross. Is it worth having Crimson Rod?
