Skilled played, unless its ndly. Otherwise its just a lot of micro movements. No different then playing Riven (LoL) and depending on canceling her animation for optimum results.

Probably an exploit technically, but totally not illegal? Interesting question

It's obviously a bug abuse.

Is it skill abuse/exploit, sure. Is it bannable at the moment, nope. I guess you could say it's a exploit by definition but completely not bannable. It would be up to the GM's to say if it's bannable from here on out or not but as it stands they've stated this is legal (not talking about no delay edits).
But then again there's always the program floating around that mimics dancing skills automatically for you. I suppose that is bannable as well since it's a third party program but really hard for a GM to notice it since they wouldn't be able to tell the difference.

I don't see how it's any different to portal cloaking to avoid a change of status
Guess it all depends on how much the enemy cries!

The only skill that i know that can dance is cross impact.
Many skills are. Bowling bash, occult impact, acid bomb, dragons breath, ect. It's a bigger deal on classic due to aspd being much harder to get and lower skill per second caps.

Should be banned since it's not intended to work that way tbh. The damage output this bug abuse causes is very game breaking.

Aren't those AIs (and merc AI's ) technically illegal anyway lol
"ASPD problems" = Game mechanics.
People are so damn picky and choosy about what they decide is okay in this game when it comes to client functionality lolol

So are people seriously saying being a good player and being able to skill dance is an exploit now? mindblowngitgud.

i don't really have an opinion cause i'm too lazy to dance things, though i did try OI dancing years ago and it was a hassle and a half. i just want to know if i should switch that option off in case someone sees me doing anubises with a fencer and goes YOU DANG WELL BETTER NOT BE AVOIDING DELAY ON THAT. is anyone going to do that? probably not, but i try not to break any rules myself, even if they only come into play for me once in a blue moon.
just show me what the judgement is and i'm good to go

It's not skill abuse, its a game mechanic. Animation cancelling is huge in pretty much all multiplayer games and doing it effectively is generally what separates the good players from the bads. If "skill" dancing was not intended to occur they would have made all skills block moment until the animation is finished, which they did for most skills, but not all.

I always default heroic backpack and use greed to animation cancel my heals on my AB. It also gives me an idea where i'm pos lagged at when i see where the loot is being picked up from so I can reposition faster.

Is it what was intended by the developers though? Or is it skilled play just because someone decided so?

Animation canceling is nearly always unintended but expected; it's been around since games have had reactions/recovery tied to animations (so, very long time.)
I mean, what are you going to do, make it impossible to move after casting a skill?

Animation canceling is skillful.
Why does this thread even exist?

it is a player skill needed by timing. just like when the cast bar begins to cast your expected skills then point click on another cell to remove casting animation.

'-'...
This is like a part of the game,a part of most MMO's btw.
Some MMO's actually incentive the players to do Animation Cancel (not using cheats of course)

This thread reminds me of the poor Animosity team who got disqualified during the USRC event because the guy was so good at canceling the skill animation and got accused of using NDL on the RK lmfao
