It's been almost a month since the release of ROWEB/RO Journey.

What are the things you like and of course the things you kind of hate?

I'll start, I really like PVP, I'm one of those who kill players who are mostly afk so they'd be my enemy (lol, no hate it's the system)

 

 

What I hate? I'm not rich so I can't throw much moolah (JK, I hate the fact that this game's another p2w tho)

I've been playing for about week now. I hate other players picking on weakling like me. I hope that they will fix safe mode so that we could farm peacefully T_T

I like how easy the game progresses. Its easy to get the hang of it.  :p_laugh:

 

I hate the card abilities. Since I am an RO1 player, I expected the cards to be functioning the way they do in RO1.  :p_swt:

I also hate the King of PvP event. The moment you enter the event, you almost instantly die because the players are already waiting for you at the spawn point. :p_ang:

Hate that there is only 2 viable classes, if ur not hunter or blacksmith u cant compete. Even a assassin with lvl 4 wings and lvl 6 aura cant even come close to out dps a hunter or blacksmith with niether. Not to mention having 180 aspd and 500more atk

I hate how as a Hunter I can have 100 DEX and still can't hit Wanderer with a regular attack.  :p_swt:

 

I love how you can leave the game on when you sleep and wake up to delicious cards in your inventory.  :rice:

 

I love how you have the option to build weapons for afk farming specific enemies.  :p_love:  (Building a Raydric bow right now!)

 

I hate how some cards only come from card albums, especially ones that are for certain attributes (like Ground!!!)  :p_sad:

 

I hate being PK'd everywhere by a CERTAIN PLAYER. Everyone on Server 1 probably can guess who.  :yawn:

 

I love being able to customize my character build with skills, and how there isn't only "THE ONE BUILD." Our guild's Hunters all use different builds!  :p_hi:

 

I hate the fact that almost everything I pick up (unless I am farming for a very specific item to sell) isn't even worth 1 diamond.  :sob:

 

I love events like Tower of Death, and exp parties! Teamwork for leveling is awesome!  :p_laugh:

I head that assassins are for late games, although yeah it does make sense and it is evident that blacksmith and hunters dominate the dps category. Let's wait maybe for a re-balancing? (false hoping, lol)

and I do agree with those delicious loots you'll see when you check the inv after being away/asleep for some time.

Game is to hard for me, i wish there would be an option that the Item Mall got auto piloted as well.

First off, this game is extremely pay to win. VIP players gets huge amount of bonus stat points for all their characters. 300 points from what i've heard. that's just stupidly insane having so much advantage over those who are not able to avail VIP.

 

10:4 conversion rate. like wow. so damn expensive.

 

i swear to odin, whoever designed the skill trees in this game did not play ragnarok. skill tree for mage makes no sense and is just plain stupid. elemental trees should have dependent skill paths for build possibilities and variations.

 

market items for diamonds is kewl and all but i'd also want something to spend my zeny on other than pots.

 

i hate king of pvp because you're already dead as soon as you warp on the room. a bigger room should be used and implement random spawn points as well.

 

PK system is "alright" but there's no point in doing it other than clearing a farming spot, there's no perk into it either. you get penalized for accumulating 30sins but you don't gain anything from it. would be nice if you earn "infamy" points by PKing and you can use these points to buy something from the item mall shop.

 

i don't like the game refining system where you need to get ore+2 and ore+3 to be able to try upgrading to these levels. why not just use more ores per attempt to make it simpler? i.e. 1 ore on +1, 3 ores on +2, 6 ores on +3 and so forth. if the game refinement system is like this, i don't mind items downgrading on a failed upgrade attempt.

 

math in this game doesn't seem to work properly. i failed upgrading an item 5 times in a row despite having 80% success chance. talk about streak of bad luck. you don't get fumbles five times in a row. not on a 80% chance of success at least.

 

i hate how the charm system works and how it's rigged the game into whoever had the highest charm pet = higher HP regardless of character builds. pets should give bonuses, yes but not as much as they do in this game. it also forces me to use a pet that i might not even like but i have to because of the higher bonus.

i use wizard and i can pretty much stand toe to toe with hunter and blacksmith (without overthrust) and win. i only have decent gear (+3s, few cards). i am also able to go near them in terms of DPS. i die in 2 to 3 hits from blacksmith with overthrust.

are you [10]Squall? only feud i see in-game are kazul and squall's.

 

tower of death is sort of meh. poor rewards for spending that much time on it. payon autohunts is basically afking for higher exp. lol

 

i wish they'd open guild dungeon twice a day so ppl can do it more and allow players who doesn't live in the US (like me) to be able to participate.

ONE of those mentioned just goes around and kills everyone all the time and doesn't care who the heck they are. ;)

When they opened new servers, they should have made it regional. As in the time frame of the game being based on Europe or wherever other players around the world are from so they can participate in important events.

 

I don't like that PK is available everywhere because people will kill you when you're afk and they don't know or care that you're using manuals for exp. It wouldn't be a problem for me because you respawn and go back into the same map, just not the same monsters you geared for or were focusing on. If I could afford opening slots and what not with everything else that cost $20+ then being PK'ed wouldnt be an issue because i can just kill whatever the auto pathing takes me to instantly. Also, when it comes to world boss and instanced bosses, you have no chance of not getting PK. Perhaps world boss but for instanced you're screwed most of the time. It's  a "Shady Business" :P

 

There's tons of bugs in the game. I can almost guarantee none would be fixed. At least no time soon and by that I give them a good 6-9 months before they tackle one or two things. They can't fix their RO clients, much less a flash game. A flash game that destroys your memory...especially if you made another account to support your main.

 

The only thing I like about this game is the fact that auto play is a thing now. But 99% of the game is about PK. The only instanced PvP that comes close to RO is RvR. The open world PvP is a huge turn off to what people who are nostalgic about RO want to play. Yes, PvP was sort of fun in RO but Journey doesn't come close to the same level as RO1. Tutorial island sucked me into the game and I regret putting in money now. Never again, this company has failed over and over after RO with the damn cash shop and not fixing their games/optimizing it. When I realized that you need to invest like $200 to stay somewhat competitive in Journey and get the full experience of RO1 I blew my hat off. I didn't even spend $200 on Ro1 in the 6 years I played from '07. This is why games like WoW will always be the best. They just require you to pay a subscription/buy the game(cheap) and actually fix their games. Not to mention they have friendly and knowledgeable CS. 

 

Right now Im only playing the game to help this guild im in to level up for a while until they get consistent daily players. Other than that I have no reason to play RO Journey at all.

I played through the whole CBT and  just returned playing the game about 3 days ago. What I like most about this game is that its easy to get the hang of. Daily dungeon run.

 

Things that I hate:

- How VIPs got tons of overpowered perks.

- Daily MVP event.

(I really hate it when the game forces me to play the game on a specific time)

I really hate how imbalance the characters in the game. Knight Damage sucks.

I hate how they locked the Cards slots and need to use 200 diamonds to unlock it.

 

But what I like in this game is the PVP system. PK all the way :D

I first played Knight and it was like a failing business. I tried hybrid builds and still.. no bueno. :( So I created Assassin and it kicks ASS BRUH~! When I PK players who just stand there waiting to last hit for loot , I PK and then cast my skill Hiding XD

Assassin job class was great but I wish they rework the Knight.  :sob:  I know that Knights are Damage-sponges but come on man.. At least make it average or little high cuz it takes 30 mins for my Knight to kill in Orc Dungeon daily quest :/

Knight skill tree is awesome tho.

I like the players, both the kind and helping individuals and the more Chaotic ones that go around PK'ing,

 

I wouldn't say there is anything I hate, though I wish there were other ways to obtain some items.  Like 2nd Job skill books.  Also, it'd be nice if instead of needing an Emperium(however it's spells) to create a guild, you could just pay a large amount of Zenny(10000W/100 Mil for example), maybe even do a quest as well.

 

Overall I'm rather pleased with the game as a whole(but I'm easily pleased); though it is missing a certain hooks, so to speak. ^_^

I am walking the path of a free user. I don't like how the game has been built to earn as many cash as possible. Totally a cash cow. Let's do a comparison here. In the original Ragnarok Online, you can achieve decent to high end gears even without spending a single dime.. All you need is a good marketing strategy and a lot of time to farm items. In Journey, no matter how much time you spend on this game, you can't hold a candle to those who uses cash to buy those high end gears. 

 

The lack of update and communication is killing us. The Journey community needs someone who can relay our requests, suggestions, and opinion to the developers. We also need information about the future plans of the development team for this game. It has been a month and there is no update or whatsoever.

 

The game is good but there are a lot of things that needs to be improved to make it more marketable, because right now, I wouldn't even want to recommend this to anyone.

They just copy code from china version and translate with a translator "made in china". So bug can't be fixed until the chinese fix it first.

The Peace mode has no other function?. Its just there keeping you from hitting anyone besides the mobs.

As far as I can see on the game, It is very compact because you can play it in any computer that you can use for it is a web-based game but in order to play it, you need a very stable internet connection.

 

It is good for players who are really busy with their life because of the "AUTO ATTACK/QUEST SYSTEM" they have in which I could just leave it while I'm doing something but the down part is that, there are people that I know who play games like this and they just use the auto function all day and leaves them for other games. It only gives satisfaction that the character they have is high but if you let them play manually or ask them about something, they do not know anything about the game.

 
 
With regards to the characters, I like it when if you equip something on the character, it still changes so the immersion is still there unlike those web-based games that I played, the default character's clothing never changes so it feels very bland. 
 
For the animation, well it is very smooth for a web-based game so I don't have any say to that.
 
 
Also in leveling up characters, you can get at least 2 points in skills for your job and yourself can get leveledVo up which is great for me because I can make my skills higher so easily. I do not know if it's a Ragnarok thing (this is my first time playing in this franchise) so maybe I thought it is a strategy to make the players play more like those games in the private server but the difference is that this is included in the main franchise of the game.
 
The stats also have a recommendation for your job and character which is also nice for the beginner players so that they could balance their stats without having so much trouble thinking about it.
 
For the items, there are some parts that I could not understand like the lock icons on the items and the different colors it represents and also, I do not know how to buy equipment items. For beginners in RO like me, I know how to buy items (mostly in the NPCS) but here in RO:J, the game only teaches us to refine items but not in buying equipment but they taught us how to buy health/mana items.
 
They also have too many servers and I read in the forums that server 11 is the most stable one so most of the people are using that server and the other servers are being left out.
 
I learned that most of the BGM here are included in the original Ragnarok game (as it was stated by my sister when I was playing the game at home) so it has the original Ragnarok feels.
