'Kay, so, as the title says. I stopped playing around... 2014? 2015? Somewhere around there. There was a hub-bub over a big overhaul with classes/skills and a lot of lag and whatnot... Also, some kind of "master level" thing was introduced.. Anyway, recently I was thinking of trying the game again.

What's the game like now? Does it have a healthy number of active players?

My original character, from back when, is still active. Level 50 rogue, whose skills/stats were all reset due to the introduction of the master level thing. So, I kind of have a blank slate... But are rogues any good now? Would it be better to start over from scratch as another class?

If so, as someone who prefers melee DPS, PvE, and solo'ing, what class would be recommended? It's been ages, and I don't quite remember what was best at what, and a lot has probably changed anyways.

Master Level is very very very boring. Just do a same daily quest each days. ( Some master level game will show you a little main quest. )

It's okay to play with, If you're enjoy with same daily quest each days.

Hi Hikki,

it's nice to see you back here again. I'll try to provide some informations for your questions, may you find em usefull :D

What's the game like now?

  • well, starting from earlier last month there'd been lots of changes rolled out for this game, it aims to provide better playing experience for new / returning players. details can be found here

Does it have a healthy number of active players?

  • i believe this game still have a healthy number of active players, we also had migrating players from Indonesia some time ago which help liven up our international server :D

as for what build is better for soloing i think i'll leave that to someone more capable, i believe you'll like what they've done to RO2 now and more new features are coming. At least i think it won't hurt to try playing again ^^

I'd say, if you look at the bright side, DQ gives you a daily goal, not just grinding hard all day or just stand idle after you max out and can't think of anything to do. It gives a little reward and is also helpful to new players.

No one is forcing you to DQ anyways  :heh:  :heh:

Other than that, raids, colosseum and WoE is there, never miss the fun of it and you'll love the game. Wars makes your heart skip a beat.

I don't think Master Level is boring. It gives you options whether or not level up, you still can get stat and skill points.

For now I choose to stay at ML21 so I can get some lower level "perks".  :p_smile:

If Ragnarok2 was more like Ragnarok Mobile then that would encourage newer players,

for comeback players Midgard is stilll the same?
