I Need Blacksmith Advice

I've been leveling a pure DEX/LUK merchant with the intention of crafting elemental weapons for my other characters. I'm currently level 40/30 with 41 DEX/45 LUK. I'm doing this partially because I don't think the 2-2 classes are coming for awhile, and because I don't plan on making a Sage for myself. Is the increased crafting percentage from going full DEX/LUK worth it? How much harder is it to craft elemental weapons with a combat-oriented Blacksmith? When I'm a Blacksmith with level 3 weapon smithing, oridecon research 5, and weapon research 10, with 50-60 DEX and LUK, what are my ultimate success chances going to be?

Also, if anyone could offer any advice on which to to use while leveling, and where to hunt etc. I'd appreciate it.

Even with full dex/luk success rates are abysmal (unless you're good with your hands). I'd suggest making friends with a Priest if you haven't already.

>> get free exp till party figure it out

Rinse and Repeat on other maps.

In my experiences as a pure forge blacksmith. The algorithm takes dex / luk into the factor of success, also the stronger the anvil is you are using will determine success or not. Ultimately when you add star crumbs to the mix is when success gets shakey. I recommend you not try forging any vvs weapons until you have 70 dex 60 luk, base level 70 job lvl 40. At those stats and levels i very rarely failed when creating vvs ele weapons back in the day.

You are far better off just paying someone that has built a forger smith 100k to make a weapon over making an otherwise dead character to forge a few weapons. There's already 3 people selling forged weapons myself included.

I've seen some elemental weapons here and there, but no VVS weapons yet, which is what I'd be doing all this for.

btw, in leveling i think a Forging Blacksmith much be leech for exp only.

Get cart revo and go to geffen dungeon 1. Cart revo mob fly wing Poison spores, i did this until level 76 on my knight it was good fast exp with no spending to level.
