Knights are OP in WOE - Any fixes?

Most top woe guilds are 50% one class - knights. This is pretty major class imbalance that should be fixed to both encourage class diversity and make woe more interesting. Personally im not a fan of nerfing the top class, and instead favor buffing the other classes. Some simple solutions would be prinarily gear oriented-
Wizard - bard will help, though also access to stronger gear sets or weapons would help.
Monk - Access to mid slotted headgear
Blacksmith - Much stronger weapons or some custom gear to make this class actually dangerous to knights either via damage, status effects, or woe tankability (like a ck effect smith only axe)
Assasins - Adding the Drill katar and making it usable by assasins might help, though there would be balancing issues with rogue. Like Smith, Sins need an upgrade though it does not have to be pure damage.

Just some thoughts, maybe this will be sorted out once all classes becone available. If not, please consider some modifications to the less sought after woe classes to make them more viable.

less knights when more classes are released naturally, but knights will still be the largest %

Agreed, still its a shame that other classes are so weak in comparison (particularly smith & sin)

This not only applied in woe, but in pvm as well, and from the beginning of the server.
 
I do not think it would have to be added something to balance, because the only real balance would be the release of the transclasses, since the current hybrid renewal system is totally unbalanced for old times.
 
All you have to do is wait and enjoy a woe focused on knights and monks.

In a nutshell.

 

As long as I can remember, from a pre-renewal point of view, swordsman classes have always been almost unkillable in woe when properly geared. Its a "shame"/"healthy balance" that monks have a 10-15 sec CD on Gfist to control that, as they lack the defensive abilities  crusaders have besides the highest HP pool in the game.

 

Not only that, but I feel that BB was made way too op in renewal. I remember how outclassed it was by spear knights and how rare it was seeing a BB knight due the 4 carded weapons mechanics and the utility that spears bring to the table  (someone confirm this, as I never truly was a knight main). On an additional note when I started on this server, I tried to go for a spear knight, only to see how outclassed it is now by BB and getting discouraged by renewal high-atk-few slots mechanic of weapons. Had to reroll that mofo.

 

Just wait to trans classes, and let the qq'ing for one-shotting SB assassins and acid bombing biochemists start. (If renewal didn't -_-'em up as well)

As a long term Knight Fan I humbly ask to please let the Knights shine. In classic´s Trans age, Knights were relegated to status spammers and farming class for a long time until 3rd classes made them somewhat useful again. Balance will come later  with more jobs and equips being released so let us at least enjoy this moment,. :heh:

No ...actually no.

 

As a main assasin player i pretty much had to change my class , i have choosen Monk, becouse i really really dispice knight , not that i think the class overall should be hated but the place there are at now, makes me salty enough to play the one class that could kill them and i will still complain about the overall powerhouse that is knight.

For example how is it reasonable that BB is the only mass skill that deals a ridicoulous amount of 600% atk? While Occult impact got nerfed to 1/3 of its former glory (not including the hard icepick effect nerf) .

The only skill that comes close to this is Mammonite and that one isnt AOE and has an additional 1k zeny cost.

Some things that  knights have for them going atm:

- Access to the best weapons

- Acess to the highest defensive gears 

- Access to the stronges AOE (BB)

- Acess to a high versatile single Target Damage skill ( Bash)

- Acess to a high versatile PVM skill (Endure)

- Acess to the highest movement speed

Still on the renewal system, the defense was highly nerf, so equipments with over that could make difference in other classes serve no purpose, thus leading to the knight again as best way for defense too, for its high HP and high natural defense .
 
Resume: Make a knight and enjoy the game in easy mode, until the release of the transclasses.

I actually enjoy to play the game on hard mode ,assasin for farming and Monk for knight tears... eh .. i mean...woe  ^^

drill katar would be fun and would certainly include the sins in the competitve woe scenario

Useless whine again and again. If something is OP. Play it. Hf and enjoy being first target to get oneshooted by every lvl75 monk with some skill. Waiting for your "monk is op" whine. Cu then.

So we can bb them into nothingness, while they try to strip our coated weapons? A priest with down agi is more effective then a Rouge.

Buff Blacksmith.  Their HP pool is low imo.   I'd love to play one but they aren't that great for WoE.

Have to agree here, they were good in classic with mammo/cartrevo damage output and they are still the best taker class atm, but still with renewal mechanics, the lost a lot of thier potential actually thier low hp pool made it somewhat (at least in ro terms) balanced before atm they really fall behind.

if you ask me however priest are the one class that need the heaviest buff of them all, they got nerfed into dust, wizzard have at least skull cap + ewb for them going now, thats something even though its ...extremly costly compared to other class gears
