I'm playing physical RK again and looking to buy DR garment for the first time.Which garment is better for physical RK Faw or etran? They cost about the same but I'm not sure which one to go with.
DR Faw or Etran?

DR FAW gives either full ASPD, full crit, full ranged damage, full ATK, while taking 50% more dmg from element other than neutral
DR Etran gives anti knockback and no penalty from element other than neutral
conclusion: it is based on your playstyle and preference

But I think HBP is more lovelier than a FAW.

DR FAW works fine if you don't like switching gears.

When you don't have extra zeny and MUST pick one, i recommend etran over faw. This is because it is much more flexible for what you need it for (-50% neutral resist) as a crit RK. The HP boost and anti-knockback is really good too as defensive options.
Generally, it should be a given that your main garment is still the fatal FAW, so situations where you need to use DR is mainly mobbing, Etran is much better than FAW unless your only mobbing place is nightmare clock tower lol (no elements).

there's only 2~3 fights in the game where you need the heavy reduction from DR and still need multiple elemental reductions. I never used Etrans, and prob never will.;

I will need DR to level in NCT for now so faw would be a good option for me. Thanks for all the help guys, much appreciated.

Get both.

Explain
Well, if you need more neutral resist and wouldn't worry much of other elemental attacks then hbp is better.

Non-neutral element penalty from DR is mostly negated by either Hagalaas Rune or wearing the correct elemental armor.
I'd put my first DR on something a lot of characters w/ different builds would be able to use. So it's either HBP or Etran.

I may do this on a HBP, but the Etran is looking enticing with the knock back
