Winter Festival Event


Happy New Year Roserians!

The wonderful Winter Festival has returned to Snow Valley for 2018, which begins on 7th January and runs until 28th January!   Check out the event page here for more details about this spectacular winter extravaganza!

Bug Fixes

• Corrected issue causing current target to be cleared when changing targeting options while taunted.
• Corrected issue with Arua Fairy buff bonuses being applied in Junon Cartel when leaving Game Arena games.
• Arua Fairy bonus effect will no longer randomly spawn on players in Junon Cartel.
• Prevented the use of monster summon capsule items in Game Arena PvP modes and Junon Cartel.
• Corrected issue with Critical Fortune not providing Critical Damage bonus at levels 1 ~ 4.
• Relaxed collision on some walls and objects around Junon Polis that would interfere with player movement.
• Corrected terrain boundary placement in Anima Lake near Desert of the Dead entrance.
• Corrected set bonus description on Happy Holiday costume.
• Corrected visual issue with female Tango Costume.
• Corrected facing direction of Gravestone Shop Coupon.
• Corrected display issue on Star Seeker costume.

Wait, you blocked ALL monster summon capsules? oO RIP Mastyx Battle pets. Lmao kinda sucks but hey, bug fixes to start off the new year, I aint gonna complain.

Gameguard was removed on Patch Notes v.212 - 03.13.2009.

The reason it was removed was that it was causing unintended and potentially unwanted side effects for player experience, I suggest you read this post/blog on MMORPG to have a broader picture of why this decision was made.

Here are some of the older patch notes that include some connection issues because of nProtect GameGuard.

Most connection issues that are happening with GameGuard would be caused by anti-virus, or firewalls not allowing gameguard to patch through and run, it's a simple fix and times are much easier than it was back then.

It's been almost 10 years without an active anti-cheat on ROSE Online, having a game guard or some type of anti-cheat will disallow users from editing client values via cheat engine, and memory/packet editing would never exist again as Game Guard was solely designed to terminate the program when memory values were unexpectedly changed.

Maybe Game Guard isn't the right answer, but some sort of anti-cheat program being added to the ROSE Client will help tons. I'm sure there is other anti-cheat programs out there that have become more advanced than game guard has as it's 2018 now. Warp Portal getting permission from the higher-ups in the company to get a contract with said anti-cheat program \ company will be the real issue, that's how I feel about the situation but I could be wrong. I don't know how things are over at WP.

Well if they do I hope they pick something like, XIGNCODE3 or HackShield.

The problem is with today's technologie and broad selection of search engines its relatively easy to find any bypass hacking tools/software that do the tricks for you.

In short, if users want to hack they will hack, and in most severe cases a Anti-Cheat program/software wont stop them.

And ontop of those facts, the majority of player experiences is pritty bad with most Anti-Cheat software just being a pain in the but to deal with, like I said before causing unintended and potentially unwanted side effects for everyone.

XIGNCODE3 would be awesome to have as it flags the developers of all people that are continuously caught, giving the developer hardware ID's and allowing HWID bans to finally take place at warp portal.

You will not be bypassing a HWID ban, you will be buying a new computer in order to play ROSE Online.

Editing client values? What is the purpose of cheating on this game. Other than dupers or the minor bugs. Theres nothing you can really do to cheat on this game lol. You click around with your mouse and click your f1-12 to attack enemies or monsters.
