Runes

Runes can be equipped in gears that have rune holes to give them stats or abilities

oYYbXG6.png

There are different runes and rune holes but you need to open the hole to use the rune, for that you need a hole puncher

jexWapl.png

Just right-click the puncher and select the equipment you want to open, once opened it will look like this

ZA9NSIn.png

How to make a rune hole puncher?

It can be done by blacksmiths, and the best one is the Rocket Runehole Puncher, you need one for each rune slot you want to open

Y8WXUnx.png

To equip the rune, right-click it and select the equipment and the hole where you are going to put it

Which are the different holes?

Bind rune holes (the grey ones), are for Bind runes of STR, INT or AGI +50 max

Blue rune holes, are for Blueseed runes

Red rune holes are for Redseed runes

Green rune holes are for Greenseed runes

Purple rune holes are for Bind runes of STR, INT or AGI but +80 max

And Gold rune holes are for blue, red or green runes

Which are the different Runes?

Bind Runes of Intelligence/Strength/Agility

iHIAKbX.png

The best you should make are +50 and +80 and they give the stats in their name.

For example: Bind rune of AGI +50 gives 50 of AGI

Blueseed Runes

pUU4Qpv.png

These one gives you all the basic stats according to their level, these ones are from level 1 to level 50. And they give stats 1.4 times their level

For example: Blueseed rune [50] gives +71 of each, STR, AGI, INT, WIS, VIT

Redseed runes

p6deFp4.png

There are two types: Flame and Blood

- Blood runes give Dodge and Parry according to their level

- Flame runes give Hit, Vigor and Haste according to their level

And both give stats 1.4 times their level

For example: Redseed rune [Flame 40] gives +57 of each Hit, Vigor and Haste

Greenseed Runes

GgCSTjJ.png

There are ten types and they have different abilities, max levels and are used in different pieces of equipment:

(Here are examples of each with their max level)

Greenseed runes for Weapon only:

  • Greenseed rune [Power 40]: Increase 20% of damage
  • Greenseed rune [Shock 20]: Gives 10% chance to stun the target with every attack
  • Greenseed rune [Panic 20]: Gives 10% chance to confuse the target with every attack
  • Greenseed rune [Cure 20]: Gives 10% chance to gives curse to the target with every attack

Greenseed rune for Top Equipment only:

  • Greenseed rune [Armor 25]: Decrease 12,5% of damage

Greenseed rune for Pants only:

  • Greenseed rune [Shield 10]: 5% chance to cast shield (30% damage decrease for 10 seconds)

Greenseed runes for Gloves only:

  • Greenseed rune [Cure 10]: 5% chance to cast cure (2% heal every 2 seconds, for 10 seconds)
  • Greenseed rune [Cast 20]: Increase 320 of Cast Speed

Greenseed rune for Shoes only:

  • Greenseed rune [Wind 20]: Increase 20% of move speed

Greenseed rune for Helm only:

  • Greenseed rune [Dispell 10]: 5% chance to cast dispell

Most of the runes gives the abilities 0.5 times their level, [Wind] rune gives the ability same as its level and [Cast] rune gives the stat 16 times its level

How to get the runes?

Bind Runes of STR/INT/AGI

For these ones you have to exchange items, some you have to buy with zeny and some you get from quest. The exchange has to be done with four NPCs in Prontera

r5K0BRy.png

xiKBXJN.png

From left to right you can buy: The Elixirs, the Runes, the Pearls and the Powders

6IjFIdb.png

3nnXOmZ.png

W4r0Uj9.png

S321PqZ.png

There is where you buy and Exchange the items for the runes but you also need items from quest

Let’s start with the +50 runes, the quest for the runes are in Morroc and can be done once everyday

V7AEqR6.png

The quest are at the bottom and you could tell which are because they start with “Request”

3gwUBnq.png

For every quest you get one item, so it takes 4 days to make a +50 rune, if you do the quest with 4 characters it will take you 1 day to make it. Which quest and how many times a day you do it is up to you. You can check what item you have the most and which you lack.
Knowing that you get the five items for the quest and the others you buy from the NPCs in Prontera here is a quick table to know what you need to make your +50 rune

This is what you need before going to the NPCs in Prontera:

  • 4 Alchemist’s Stone (from quest) 255MkzP.png
  •
  • 3 Mid Solvent (from quest) Zdq2gAy.png
  •
  • 2 Low Grade Solvent (from quest) mwqgLW4.png
  •
  • 2 Lowest Grade Solvent (from quest) nBLf299.png
  •
  • 2 Exhausted Stone if3BfNn.png
  •
  • 250z

I’ll make an example to get a +50 STR rune, but if you want to get an INT or AGI rune, the items you have to buy have the same name but instead of STR in their name it says INT or AGI

First we go to the Powder merchant (Rune Merchant – Stat Powder) and buy:

  • 10 Lowest Grade Stat Powder + STR
  • 3 Low Grade Stat Powder + STR

Then to the Pearl Merchant (Rune Merchant – Crystal & Solvent) and buy:

  • 2 Faintly Shining Pearl
  • 2 Gorgeously Shining Pearl
  • 1 Abyss Pearl

Then to the Elixir Merchant (Rune Merchant – Elixir) and buy:

  • 2 Lowest Grade Rune of STR Elixir
  • 2 Low Grade Rune of STR Elixir
  • 1 Mid Rune of STR Elixir

And finally to the Rune Merchant and buy the +50 Rune of STR

To make the +80 rune is similar but you have to do one more quest and you need more of the other items and more zeny
In total you have to take 6 quests, the ones of Morroc and another one from Forgotten Payon

RmKL3OX.png

Like before, here is what you need before going to the NPCs of Prontera:

  • 8 Alchemist’s Stone (from quest) 255MkzP.png
  •
  • 5 High Grade Solvent (from quest BwxkgaW.png
  •
  • 6 Mid Solvent (from quest) Zdq2gAy.png
  •
  • 4 Low Grade Solvent (from quest) mwqgLW4.png
  •
  • 4 Lowest Grade Solvent (from quest) nBLf299.png
  •
  • 4 Exhausted Stone if3BfNn.png
  •
  • 800z

I’ll make an example to get a +80 STR rune, but if you want to get an INT or AGI rune, the items you have to buy have the same name but instead of STR in their name it says INT or AGI

First we go to the Powder merchant (Rune Merchant – Stat Powder) and buy:

  • 20 Lowest Grade Stat Powder + STR
  • 6 Low Grade Stat Powder + STR
  • 3 Mid Stat Powder + STR

Then to the Pearl Merchant (Rune Merchant – Crystal & Solvent) and buy:

  • 4 Faintly Shining Pearl
  • 4 Gorgeously Shining Pearl
  • 2 Abyss Pearl
  • 1 Dimension Pearl

Then to the Elixir Merchant (Rune Merchant – Elixir) and buy:

  • 4 Lowest Grade Rune of STR Elixir
  • 4 Low Grade Rune of STR Elixir
  • 2 Mid Rune of STR Elixir
  • 1 High Grade Rune of STR Elixir

And finally to the Rune Merchant and buy the +80 Rune of STR

Blueseed, Redseed and Greenseed runes

Blue and Red runes are dropped from mobs in Fallen Fortress, there are two NPCs that teleport you there and they are in Prontera

J3eIUcY.png

Green runes are dropped in Chaos Dungeon, you can enter there from Fallen Fortress

W5BTkWb.png

Also you can get the Green runes from mystery chest that you get doing daily quest in Morroc and Dayr Dessert

In addition Blue, Red and Green runes drop from mobs in Forgotten Payon

9u0uaab.png

Things you need to know:

- Blueseed, Redseed and Greenseed runes drop without level, they get a random level from 1 to its max when you equip the rune, if their level is low you can keep adding runes till you get one you find good but since is random it can drop level too.

- If you have a very good rune and want to transfer it to another gear or sell it you have to use a "Rune Remover" and it will keep its level (Rune Remover is a Kafra Shop item and you can also get it from Phantom Pyramid

-Accesories and Costumes have rune holes too but you need a "Super Puncher" that is another Kafra Shop item. for accesories there is an accesory puncher that you can get through Union quests

- Every item in this guide can be obtained also from Kafra Shop, Auction House, Other Players and some events

- To go to Chaos Dungeon You need to complete a Quest first form King Reinhard in Prontera
