Well since pvm is a joke a lot chars can tank there. I ran on pvp gear through dungeons with my mage and was able to tank as long as my mana was up. But imo this is more a reason to nerf chars in pvm or make dungeons harder. Btw will Gloopy or that sod boss ever get fixed?

Dungeons r a joke, no need for a mage to tank, when enough classes can tank there already. Id still be up for different types of Dungeons...where u can decide if u go hardcore version or lowbie version.

Taunt for frost mage is just another bonus to make it more comfortable, and definitely not needed

Haha! Who are you kidding, the DEVs, fix PvM? Yeah right. The PvP community would go BALLISTIC if they spent even an hour working on Dungeon difficulty [unless it meant new stronger stuff they could use in PvP, then they'd allow it]. But making Dungeons or Raids purely for PvM players? Aint happening. 

 

Look, the only thing we'll ever get from the DEV's in regards to PvM is slight changes and easy fixes/implements that cost almost no payroll hours to do. Copy + Paste and adding 'Taunt' the the effects list, and changing the 'target type' requirement would take almost zero time to do. It's fast, it's easy, and it adds diversity to the list of roles people can play. And let's face it, the only thing PvM players have to keep themselves busy is exactly that, toying around with new weird builds. If they stop adding 1 thing here and 1 thing there to PvM content, it will stagnate and people will just get bored. 

 

Anyway, point is, you're ONLY here to complain, because it's me suggesting it. IF it was anyone else, and they'd asked for mage's to get a new utility spell you'd be all over it with +1's because you love Mage's. Mage is your main, that's why you have a faith staff and prostrate yourself around JC as 'the crazy mage' and the 'op mage' etc etc. Which ironically is also the same reason Lijona is here complaining. >snip< First is was 'Mages are not OP Feuer, you're stupid' to now 'Mages need to be nerfed if they're capable of this, they're OP'.  >snip<

I think its pritty clear after reading the comments, that its very much possible for a varity of classes and builds to tank any current PvM content

if mages get a taunt for pvm that would be the most rediculious update yet.

 

The majority of your ideas or suggestions has some valid reasoning behind them but this one, plain and simple, does not.

The logic is pretty simple.

Knights Can't tank Magic Damage [or aren't supposed to]

Mages have good Magic Defense.

I've clearly demonstrated they can tank.

 

We have no Magic Defense Tank, with a taunt.

We have 2 Bosses, and 2 Mini Bosses who deal Magic Damage.

Mage + PvM Taunt = New Role as Magic Defense Tank.

We have clerics for tanking magic/physical  damage now.
Dont need your mage PvM taunt.

Are you suggesting Clerics get a Taunt then? Because, they can't hold aggro either. and I kinda like the idea of a Magic Defense Tank, with equally physical tank ability, purification's, mutes resistances and self heals. I could probly make a completely invincible tank out of my Cleric if they gave them a PvM Taunt. 

 

Ok, I'll deal. Frost Mage or Cleric, either one. Infact, Cleric doesn't even have a second job Frost ability. So that'd give them purpose for building those two first tree Ice spells. Either one, don't care [I have both].

As time goes by people get stronger, and the average power level generally increases unless some type of balance changes occur. I think simply making dungeons harder overall is a bad idea because it will be too remorseless for newer/unseasoned players

 

There actually used to be a 'Hard mode' for dungeons that I suggested when they first were implemented. The enemies were harder, there was a time limit and better rewards. You could only complete hard mode for each dungeon once a day too. It might be a good idea to bring it back.

That "hard mode" sounds perfect to me, never meant to make dungeons harder in general but to at least give that option so pvm might become a "challenge" again. Would make it more interessting to play pvm again

 

 

I wont talk about the taunt anymore cause its just ridiculous.

Old Build, don't care I already switched again lol. Besides LMAO even if you DID nerf Mages, they can still tank. This Mage is no where near using a maximized item set, missing the vast majority of Passives, not using 80+ runes and it's using half refined armor xD So go ahead, nerf them, they can still tank.

 

But if you want to talk about making Dungeons harder or having a hard mode / Raid, I'd suggest making your own thread, wouldn't want to get your posts deleted for being off topic now would we. ;)
