noob question on skill element.

if my class PHYSICAL skill is a wind property and my weapon is earth(+175% vs wind)property, between them who will count as damage on a wind property mob?

From what I can tell, skill property overrides weapon property. I'm not sure if this is true for literally every skill, but all the examples I've tested have been this way.
