Most companies are ending or have ended support for XP. Don't hold your breath for them to keep catering to your choice to play on an archaic system.

Finally getting my hardware issues under control enough to pop onto the forums.

As one of those pesky XP users (XP64 specifically) I wanted to just say: thanks to Warp Portal for trying to support us despite the studio choosing to no longer do so. (Seems my guess on what was happening back in March is right on the money.)

This kind of talk is entirely unnecessary. Particularly in regards to Ragnarok Online. As ZeroTigress opined, RO probably still uses DirectX 7, let alone DX9. The game was designed to run on operating systems far older than the XP family, and yet hasn't been "upgraded" to properly support new ones. The studio's decision is rather bizarre in this light.

As for why I personally still have XP64, I think I have legitimate reasons for not wanting to upgrade to Windows 10. As I explained to another friend, choosing to get Windows 7 or 8 instead of 10 would be just rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic, as they're certainly next to be EOL'd. And when it does happen, anyone who chooses those operating systems over 10 will have to put up with the same flood of condescension XP users get now.

Besides, where companies pull support for XP, the enthusiasts step in. You'd be surprised how much mileage you can get out of an "archaic" OS.

Just wanna let you all know that Ragnarok Online is no longer compatible with Windows XP. You now need at least Windows 7 or higher.
