I don't understand how killing mobs on afk players is KSing. They are taking no offensive action to the monsters. Reflected attacks with no player input doesn't qualify as engagement IMO. If anything THEY should be banned for Mob Training. AKA holding mobs without taking offensive action and holding up the spawns for other players. Not to mention when an afk player dies often times they leave behind massive mobs that other players may not be equipped to handle. Ruining their experience again, in a different way.

Is KSing really even bannable? I've literally never been hit by it, despite many people qqing in PMs saying they'd report. I don't think the GMs actually fault players for actually playing the game and leveling efficiently. Especially in TI maps where everyone is apparently tilted as hell. People cry wolf so much I would think KS reports would just politely go into the paper shredder. The only place KSing is mentioned as an offense is here on the forums, its not in the support page FAQ, or any of the Terms of Service. I assume the forum rule (if you can call it a rule) is to discourage people from encouraging kill stealing. Which as discussed, I don't think AFK players qualify for this "protection".

 

If you stop skills from casting on physical melee damage and change it to physical melee attacks you enable the cool autocast builds and disable the obnoxious ones. A-la Hindsight. (Never going to happen though. Damage is already done.)

KS only exists if the person bothers to do a report :T


And mob train is holding monsters with the intention of harming other players, be it by holding spawn or pulling onto ppl to kill them. If the monsters die, it isn't :T

Nothing really done by GM thou if you report kser they will just said thanks and I’m sorry for the experience and bla bla and they don’t even bother to punish so what I do is I cursed at them and their whole family lol. At least it makes me feel better. Because I know they at least get some damage. Unless they don’t speak English lol.
If fact I did have kser on me and I told them don’t ks. He replied go head report me I was like wtf. Then I start cursing at that [Removed] lol

Having consulted with the elder ones from the before 2010. The traditional ruling regarding kill stealing as as follows.
 
Please do not engage in ill mannered behavior against other users. Kill stealing from players is ill mannered behavior and can result in punishment. As the players in question are not actively engaging the monsters or leading them back to their party they have no claim to hold the monsters perpetually.
 
If someone is kill stealing from you please submit a ticket so that the GM team can assist you further. Do not engage in ill mannered behavior against a user you are accusing of kill stealing as that will only result in both users being in trouble. If the GMs are not properly investigating your ticket please PM Barracuda so he can review your case. Please note that the best reports include a short replay file of the kill stealing action.
 
That all being said. Don't use this as carte blanche to harass afk levelers. If they are fighting face tanking one or two monsters leave them alone. But if they have hordes of monsters than they cannot expect to lock down a large percentage of the maps spawn table for a significant period of time.

Ok so, i usually farm nogg road every week.. I actually used to farm it everyday, but lately there are no mobs from around monday nights to maintenance!

 

So, thursdays (after maintenance) and fridays i farm around 1400 candy canes/20 min, and on mondays i farm around 700 canes/30min+, how is that possible if there are no players around besides 2 or 3 afk players?

 

sigh.. so annoying

Hey I was right for once.
 
Pretty safe to say popular leveling maps that are having monsters vanish (TI, Harpies, Magma 2, Scaraba, NCT) you are within your rights to - ehm - "Save the spawn rate"
 
 

I know you've been around for a minute, so I'm pretty sure you'll know exactly what I'm talking about here.
 
Remember pulling Mi Gaos for yourself or others in LY? There was an official limit to how many Mi Gaos a single player could hold and that was pretty strictly enforced. I had friends that got 3-day bans for pulling 10+ Mi Gaos at a time for an hour or two. 
 
How did it come to this? We're definitely in the bad timeline.


They would split and you'd frantically holy light or firebolt 1 to aggro them trying to evade mantis. Then some random bard would show up and 2 shot your other gaos and wing instantly. Good times.

ok i hate afk leveling...solution is gms let you can ks people on autocasting (afk) because is useless make a post about this because you cant force people dont be afk....be afk is not something you can get punish if you do it.

 

Even people use "atutocasting" gears and use macro (something is not legit) if you read the rules about it is not allow to use a macro to buff yourself and bla bla bla....I reported many people doing that and honestly gms are doing nothing about this matter.

 

During a TLAP event was on low ti using autogreed every 5-10 second i recorded that player and killed all mob near him making a clear video of that (I didnt sent ticket because now a days ticket system is really bad and cant send anything).

 

GMs do their best on real issues but things like this im sure they dont care at all because when I take a time doing a report is because im 100% but well...continue with this matter I dont like afk leveling but nobody cant force them to stop doing that, they did a huge investment (gears are not that cheap) but gms should allow people "ks" those people who are on autocasting and if they report you they should do an investigation because they can record only when they are playing and will not tell you they are afk.

No.... (Im just the type of person who are lazy to deal with tickets)

 

You can however do what you want in the game , but when the time comes ?

(you need to sent ticket and explain the whole afk and ks thing again)

anyways, i'm still pretty sure it has something to do with monsters "changing states" imediately upon death. As far as autocast goes, most likely has to do with freezing effects, since multiple skills can proc from one attack, in this case a spell that kills and one that freezes at the same time, leaving them stuck at some sort of limbo. 

Something similar used to happen on Shinobi TIs, when he tries to use his "substitution jutsu" on death, many times would cause the monster respawn to not happen, and leave a bunch of "ghost" mobs on the map. And novus(yellow+red) TIs, also with a bunch of ghost monsters, and parties used storm gust a lot for protection.

And you guessed it, it is something that has to come from kRO, if it even ever happens to get fixed.

 

you might be onto something with the freezing bit. off topic and not related, but i notice that when my homun gets frozen in bio5 and i happen to recall it, it will bug. the result of the bug is that the homun can no longer move. it's not technically 'frozen' anymore, as it can still pk you, but it cannot move outside of the cell because the bug acts as if the hom still actually is frozen.

the only way that i know of to remove this bug is to have your homun get frozen again and then killed. once you do this, things are back to normal.

but the freezing may be doing something to the mob as well since it messes with homun.

actually i dont care about respawning issue

 

what i care about is the game social climate if the AFK leveling is rampant. that is why i always ask "what is WP stance for this?" coz what concerns me the most is not AFK leveling contributes on spawn issue, but AFK leveling brings the game even more dead.

id have to agree with the point though, just let them ks afk levelers. away from keyboard = no human intervention whatsoever, stupid to think we're encouraging some sort of ragnarok clicker mechanic to the classic ro gameplay  :hmm:

i kind of always agreed with what camp was relaying from who he talked to. if the afk'er in question has like 3-5 mob on them i usually leave 'em alone. but if im seeing like 20, sorry but your mob is gonna become part of my kill count..

Im an AB who wear five autocasting gears. However, I prefer walk around & punch mob at face & watch my meteor+bolt to AFK leveling...

 

IDK why people believe AFK leveling ruins the game but if u hate those AFK guys, one possible solution is to disable the EFFECT of damage reflection (not the damage reflection itself).

 

AFK leveling rely on autocasting ==> autocasting rely on 1. performing a physical/magical attack or 2. receiving a physical/magical attack

 

The current mechanism of damage reflection itself will be triggered by "2" (receiving a physical attack) which is okay, but such reflected damage will be counted as "1" (performing a physical attack) and then the "1" will trigger your meteor+bolt+heal......

Moreover, 99% of autocasting skills  triggered by receiving DMG are rubbish, in fact the only effective and affordable gear is Advanced RoR (I assume that not all people have Zeny to purchase little black-lord-sticker on their shoes)

IDK whether or not simply nerf ALL autocasting gears is commercial fraud (after all those gears worth hundred-ish $$$ per person), but just change the effect of cheap things such as Mask of Hero seems harmless...

P.S. If you passed by my AB and I didnt buff u...not because I dont want to, just the autocasting keep me in GCD forever...

According to the item descriptions, does not matter if its LONG or SHORT. 

What really matter is PHYSICAL or MAGICAL type dmg...

It is possible to "buff" the type of dmg reflection to a "3rd" type.

e.g. cant be affected by damage reduction and count for neither physical nor magical...

Thus it will not trigger autocasting and somehow balanced....

 

Just like the physical / magical / ture damage in some MOBA games

 

Technologically such change is ez as long as gravity doesnt use only binary to determine dmg type
