2 questions for upgrade costume items

I have 2 questions about upgrading costume items.

1) How to make more rune slots preserving the appearance of item?

I tried middle face item with Appearance Fusion Charm and Rune Fusion Charm, but failed 3 times.

Did I do wrong or it's just a chance problem?

Is it possible to make more rune slots of middle face item?

2) How to make 3-grey-slot middle face item to 3-purple-slot middle face item?

I found NPCs converting body costumes to purple slot things, but no one do about accessories of head, middle face, lower face, etc.

Is it impossible to do ?

I'll be truely appreciative if somebody teach me and save my precious resources,,

Most accessories don't have purple slot versions, so you won't find any npc exchanging them.

You failed because it's a "chance" to get extra runeholes. The only guaranteed thing when using the Rune charm is that you won't lose runeholes or the runes already applied to it.

I thought rune slots of some items may not be increased and I spent my money uselessly

because I never failed when I tried with event wings.

And I succeeded to make it at 7th trial after reading your answer.

It's sad to hear accessories cannot have purple slots

7 times failed is kinda normal. At worst scenario, I failed like 12 times from 2s to 3s. I call it "bad server timing rate". It's not the rate, but it's like bad time, when fail occur more frequently than "normal". When easy, it's easy. Thats all.

Purple acc right now only back (wings and cape from prize). In the future Idun told us there will be acc (helmet top) purple slots.

Maybe it would be better If it needs only game currency and time..

I always use both appearance and rune charm when fusion. That's really costly, but that's how it works. Most I use the free tablet from my other lv50 char and from MVP box that I got, so it's not too expensive.
