Monster Token rate is obnoxious

If you can't do it on a daily basis then you could always farm tokens ahead for the whole week too.

I usually farm up to 100-150 tokens ahead if I'm gonna be busy on the following days.

Well said. Trying to get 2-3 per hour would be a joke, which was already the issue with the lower drop rate last time this event occurred, and it barely went up this time around. Some people have better luck than others, but still if you can only do this once a day, but it takes hours for most to gain the tokens, its kinda broken.
 

One could get the tokens too while leveling. It's not like it's a must to get 50 tokens per day. If one can only manage 25/30 per day, can refine once every 2 days....

Correct, nobody HAS to do anything in a game, but the point of the events is to get people actively playing again and interested. And when it comes to an event that potentially gives the chance for upgrades without breaking items up to lvl 10 eventually, assuming people would go out of their way to make use of this event, they would certainly not want to waste a day, if possible. But people do have lives outside of RO, so to each their own. But its still once a day per character, and without the tokens being account bound, it takes many people way too long to make an attempt per character.


At this point I just know that there are high level players with thousands of these tokens, and I ironically feel bad for them. Perhaps in the future there will be better gears and items to trade for the monster tokens, even if most people are only getting a couple hundred by the time the event ends. I can see it from both sides. *coughs * account bound plz lol

I tried that and began formulating plans and little ( not cheating, just fyi) tactics to kinda guy the system into just bringing me tokens. Basically just concentrate mobs that have a higher chance of dropping them than others. I think only one person mentioned half of what I am alluding to since last time this event happened, so I wont say it out loud for fear it may be nerfed. Still though, the rate is loooow, even if I try to get 25+ in an hour ( which is great for me lol T.T)

Other people getting more token its not about better luck per se. More like better strategy, better equips, better chars... which is how this game Ragnarok is about. Good luck finding token. and I didn't meant it in sarcastic way, like genuine hope you can find better rhythm/place to get token or people that can help you, give tips or lend you gear I guess.

Last monster token I started farm token in low ti solo with Lava Flow Mecha (available greed skill which is invaluable)  Equip used is Witch Pumpkin Hat+ alarm mask (hp recovery), fortune sword, appropriate racial reduc depend on mob slot in round buckler, elemental   soul-enchanted orlean's gown, immune nidghor garment and variant shoes. Hope this info help and if you had level 100 mecha lying around I would advise to try it out.

Got 50 tokens from 20 minutes of greeding with my smith at Low TI 

and less than 20 mins with my RK by looting manually 

making memes will not make you right, rag is an old game and most players are adults with things to do besides playing, and in the short time they have to play they have to choose between dropping, leveling or making instances.

If one indeed would want to go all out on this event, I'm sure one could stop the leveling, instances as mentioned and focus more of their RO time on farming. And what is wrong with 25 tokens per day?

quite true. there are times when you find them lying all over because people are too concerned with exp and dont feel like wasting manual time by digging through all of that other loot

Funny enough, a lot of rebels that also farm for monster tokens will flywing before they pick up all the tokens in the room. Free loot!

The fact that it takes 50 for the daily refine attempt. lol And as many people have been saying for months, not everyone can do that in a day, whether they have enough time to burn or just difficulty farming the needed amount. o>O

This all sounds like bots that just flywing when another is around. Obviously there are still bots that are only made to focus on leveling instead of farming tokens, but if it were a person liek a rebel that could just multi kill enemies to the degree that tokens fall all over, wouldnt you think they would not let them just lay there wasted if they were already farming them? Sounds like bots. lol
 

Curious how old you guys are because Jesus the type of players has changed so much. I took a three year break from video games for school back in the 2000s and something changed for sure. Or maybe I just never noticed the entitlement? I get to play maybe 3 hours a week. I don't complain about the drop rate because in that time I usually am able to get at least 2 tries for +10. Before these events I was running with+4 gears. Maybe+7. All these ocps, safe certs loot boxes have made people fing babies who expect everything done for them.

ITs not really entitlement when the playerbase has legitimate concerns regarding the mechanics of a game that means a lot to them. Obviously people could just not give a hoot about anything herein and the forums would look like a deserted wasteland, but that might as easily make it seem like IRO really is dead, just being populated by bots instead of people after all these years.
Plus ,just fyi, its ironic you saying you can get "at least" 2 tries for the refine, because some people might misunderstand, thinking you sound entitled too. But again everyone has a different perspective, and since you only play 3 hours, it might not hit you as hard as people whom have the time to farm, but get little out of it. Also there are many people with as little time as you to play or even less, and they have a big problem with the theft of hard won items and the challenges of gaining the event items at stake. True many younger people are old enough to play freely online now than in 2003, but much of the topics and logic used in the forums still seems to have merit on both sides to mine own eyes. I personally dont recall having difficulty getting items to +6 or +7 back i nthe day, but that was certainly the end of the safe zone for me, fer sure, not to sound entitled, that was just what I went through. The ocp is definitely a weird cash grab, but the safe certs became necessary just to get to that sweet +7 area for most people, hiwhc got harder in my mind in renewal. 
Basically it seems like the same conversations from back in the day, even though I have taken many breaks over many years, the player base still seems like its made up of the same kinds of people that have always been playing iRO. I like that its still geographically so diverse, especially with its conversations and standpoints. LEts me know Ragnarok is still alive. ^~^ Anyways this convo is just spinning its wheels again, with too many people being one sided instead of seeing it from both sides and trying to work together towards the slightest solution. Mods are getting a bit perturbed I have been informed, so I am going to drop the mic and bow out. At least I helped save the xmas event from 2018. That's why 25 tokens a day or maybe 20 tokens per day if one doesn't have that much time to get 50 tokens per day. By day 2/3 one get to have 1 attempt. That somehow is unacceptable huh?

That's right,

Live a socially-acceptable 'normal' life?... or prioritize token farming to get atleast 1 refine attempt everyday?

I'm a High Priest and i play with an LK buddy, 
I have gotten like about 150 coins. If you go to gramps you can pick up coins easily on the ground while teleporting. If you're farming strawberries like I did youll get 50 coins in about a good 30+ minutes, if you go mob and kill undeads assuming you're high level and use sanctuary to kill the low level mobs, you'll get a good amount of coins. 

Don't be fixated on coins, make coins the secondary goal, they'll come as you work your way towards your main goal. 

We have stated that the coin drop rate is a fixed rate for ALL monsters right? the drop rate isn't higher or lower depending on how strong the monster you're fighting is, right?

can't assume everyone is carrying the same agenda/mind-set though. any wealthy player in the game who is running a bmx3 is likely going to

prioritize

their experience over picking up tokens. i know i would. i might grab one here and there while on manual myself but remember, manuals have timers and it does take time to dig through loot, especially if HBP isnt part of your gearset.

To solve the problem once and for all, put Monster token in OCP. Don’t make it drop in game. What is this, iRO? A charity? Game is so god damn F2P -*-

Drop rates need to be tested thoroughly and many times over before actually being put in game because when the event was first announced I was excite to see I could obtain costumes / items and even refine to +9 with a tokens I can collect in game but since the drop rate was so bleak I was taken back and immediately became uninterested with the event. Once the change was made to increase the drop rate things were much more smoother but for me was too late. Basically what I'm trying to say is that first impressions make a statement test your rates.
